How to use this matrix
Use this matrix to determine what products and versions of products are supported and compatible with various versions of K2. A check mark means that the listed product/version is supported by K2. If any product or version is not listed and not covered by the K2 Product Support and Release Strategy , it is not supported. A missing check mark means that the listed product/version is not supported with that specific version of K2.
Note:
Product Support Policy and Release Strategy:
- K2’s current product support policy and release strategy are described in the knowledge base article K2 Product Support and Release Strategy .
- For details on terms and conditions for K2 support and services, see the article Support Services Policies.
- K2 4.7 introduced changes regarding support for certain versions of third-party software products. See the K2 4.7 release notes for more information.
- K2 Five introduced changes regarding support for certain versions of third-party software products. See Upgrading to K2 Five for more information.
- This matrix does not explicitly distinguish between RTM, Service Packs (SP), Cumulative Updates (CU), or update rollups of third-party software. Specific considerations regarding SP/CU/etc. support is noted in the ‘More…’ notes for a component or version. Refer to the Product Support Policy for more information on K2’s support policy for SPs, CUs, or other third-party software updates.

Release Upgrade Compatibility | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
This upgrade compatibility matrix describes which versions of K2 ("Installed K2 version") can be upgraded to which later versions of K2 ("Version to be installed").
It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version available. ![]()
If you have K2 installed with the K2 database in Azure SQL, you must upgrade to the next version of K2 versus jumping versions. For example, if you are on K2 Five (5.2) and you wish to upgrade to K2 Five (5.5), you must first upgrade to K2 Five (5.3), then to K2 Five (5.4), and finally to K2 Five (5.5).

Authentication (Identity Providers) Compatibility
This section lists which user identity providers can be used for inbound authentication with K2. For more on authentication in K2, see Authentication and Authorization in K2. K2 uses a concept called "user managers" to interact with identity providers; for more information on user managers in K2, see Introduction to User Managers in the installation and configuration guide. K2 Cloud uses OpenID Connect and can integrate with SCIM 2.0 identity providers for inbound authentication. If you have a SCIM 2.0-compliant and OpenID Connect-capable identity provider and do not see it listed in the supported identity providers below, please contact your K2 representative to have your identity provider assessed for future support.

K2 Language Pack
The K2 Language Pack is an add-on component that enables cultural adaptation and translation of non-configurable runtime UI elements. The K2 Language Pack supports different languages for the following items: Standard SmartForms controls, the SmartForms Control Pack controls, the View Flow report, and elements of the K2 Designer.
