Localization

In addition to English, Nintex Automation Cloud is also available in other languages. This allows participants, designers, and administrators who speak these languages to use Nintex Automation Cloud in their preferred language. A participant can review submissions or respond to tasks, a designer can build and debug their processes, and an administrator can on board users and adjust settings for their tenant, all in their preferred language.

When you first log into Nintex Automation Cloud the displayed language is determined by the browser's language setting. Any regional variants are not supported. For example, when the browser language is French Canadian (fr - CA), Nintex Automation Cloud will adopt the language code [fr] (French base) as the language preference without translating it into the [CA] regional variant.

If your browser is set to a language that is not supported by Nintex Automation Cloud, English will be displayed instead. You can change the language to your preferred language and when you select one of the supported languages, the user interface text will be displayed in that selected language.

The following languages are supported in Nintex Automation Cloud:

  • English (EN)

  • French (FR)

  • Spanish (ES)

  • German (DE)

Important: The language selection is specific to each tenant and does not apply to other tenants. You must set the preferred language for each individual tenant.

Set the language

  1. Click on your name drop-down at the top right corner of the toolbar, which will show the current selected language.

  2. Click the Language option.

  3. Select the Language you want from the options available.

  4. Click Save.

    If you have unsaved changes outside of the Select language panel, a dialog box is displayed giving you the option to either refresh the page or cancel the language change. Select one of the options:

    • Reload: Reloads the page. Any unsaved changes may be lost. After reloading, the user interface text will be displayed in the selected language.

    • Cancel: Cancels the language switch and saves any unsaved changes before trying again.

Additional notes

Designer

The default action name in the action toolbox and designer canvas is automatically adjusted based on the user's selected language. If the action name is changed in the designer canvas, the custom name is saved and not translated.

Instance details

  • Action name column: When the action name matches the default name, it will be translated based on the user's language preference. However, if the action name has been customized, the custom name is saved and not translated.

  • Default action name column: The user's selected language will be used to translate all actions.

  • Instance activities: Events like moving through a branch or evaluating conditions will be recorded in the language they were set up in. For example, if a user responds to a task with Approve, it will always display as Approve regardless of the user's language preference.

  • Instance error messages: The workflow execution relies on the Regional Settings' locale for processing, and any internal errors will be displayed in the Regional settings' locale, as long as it is one of the supported localization languages. If it is not supported, the errors will be displayed in English.

    Note:  This will take effect immediately for new instances started.

Assign a task to multiple users action emails

Auto-generated content and emails will be customized to match the Regional Settings of the workflow, as long as it is one of the supported localization languages. If it's not a supported language, it will default to English.

Nintex Tables

A language is selected when creating a table. The default/system columns will be created in the language selected when creating the table and will always be displayed in that language, irrespective of the language selected for the tenant. For example, if a user creates a table in German, the columns Created By, Created Date, Modified By, and Modified Date will always be shown in German, regardless of the tenant's language selection.

Connector actions

Not all connectors are localized. For connectors that are not localized, the configuration fields may display both English and the localization language. To view the list of localized connectors, see Connectors that are localized.

Nintex Gateway

In order to achieve the best localization experience, you must download and install the latest Gateway installer.

Forms

The Forms designer is translated in the selected language. To create forms in multiple languages for your participants, see Translate.

Exceptions

The following areas in Nintex Automation Cloud are not translated yet and may be addressed in future releases.

  • Log in and password reset pages.

  • Welcome, password reset, and instance failure alert emails.

  • Product support, including the support ticket creation form on the instance details page.

  • Third-party connector error messages.

  • Locale listing in Format number to string action or Regional settings configurations.

  • Actions with branches:

    • The following branch names in these actions will always be displayed in English.

      • AssureSign: Expired, Completed, Aborted

      • DocuSign: Declined, Completed, Expired

      • Branch by condition: No, Yes

    • Any remaining actions with branches: English is the language for all default and any added branches, but users have the option to customize these branch names.

  • Custom Xtensions.

  • Some connectors are not localized. To view the list of localized connectors, see Connectors that are localized.

  • Any browser prompts that are displayed.

  • What's new posts, Feedback, status.nintex.com, and help documentation.

  • Solution galleries, Nintex SDK, API documentation and Gateway exe.
