Step 3: Review the workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud
After you upgrade the workflow to Nintex Automation Cloud you can open the workflow in the workflow designer of Nintex Automation Cloud. You can review the workflow and complete the configuration before publishing it.
You must publish the workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud and deactivate the workflow in Nintex for Office 365 to complete the upgrade process for the workflow.
Note: One of the tenant's global administrators will have permission for the workflow. You will need automation administrator permissions or above to see the workflow and change the owner. For more information, see User management.
1. Review the workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud |
After you upgrade the workflow a message is displayed confirming that a draft of the workflow is created in Nintex Automation Cloud. You can view the workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud.

Open the workflow in Nintex for Office 365 and on the toolbar, click Upgrade. The Upgrade details dialog box is displayed. .

Click View in Nintex Automation Cloud.
The workflow is displayed in the Nintex Automation Cloud workflow designer. If there are unconfigured actions you must complete the configuration before you publish the workflow. View the Workflow upgrade details to view the details of the actions.

The upgrade details report that you can view after upgrading provides a detailed view of the upgrade results including what is successfully mapped, and which actions requires further attention.

The connections required for actions are not shown in the upgrade report. You must open the configuration panel for the actions that require a connections and select a connection to complete the configuration.

If any connections are required for Start events they must be applied first before adding connections to the remaining actions.
The Workflow upgrade details report displays upgrade details about actions in workflows after it is upgraded to Nintex Automation Cloud from Nintex for Office 365. You can view details of what actions were upgraded without issue and what items are not supported or requires further review.
View workflow upgrade details after upgrading

In Nintex Automation Cloud, open the workflows page.

Open the upgraded workflow.

On the top right of the toolbar, click Workflow upgrade details.

Open the workflow In Nintex Automation Cloud and on the toolbar of the workflow designer, click Workflow upgrade details.
The workflow upgrade details displays details of the upgraded items in the workflow. You can see which actions in the workflow require configuration before publishing in Nintex Automation Cloud.
Tip: In the Workflow upgrade details pane, click Download upgrade report to download the report in csv format.
3. Apply connections |
If there are any actions that require connections, apply the connections. The connections that are required for the workflows you are upgrading must be created before you upgrade the workflows. See the 2. Create required connections in Nintex Automation Cloud
If any connections are required for Start events they must be applied first before adding connections to the remaining actions.

Apply connections to the remaining connector actions. Open the configuration panel for the actions that require connections and select the connection you want in the Connection field.
4. Update the unconfigured actions |
You must configure all the actions before you can publish the workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud. Click Actions in use on the workflow designer toolbar to view a list of all the actions in the workflow and the unconfigured actions. For more information, see View actions in use.
