Log to instance details

Use the Log to instance detailsaction A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. Actions are the steps the workflow performs to complete a process. to log a message to the Instance details page.

The Log to instance details action is useful to test the accuracy of the variable values throughout your workflow or agentflow.

For example, the Calculate a value action stores a calculation result value as a variable in your workflow or agentflow. Before you publish to production, you want to verify that the calculation is correct. Add the variable to the action Message and run the workflow or agentflow using a development user.

When you check the instance of the workflow or agentflow, you can see the calculation variable value logged correctly in the instance activity.

Configure the Log to instance details action

  1. Add the action to the designer and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add an action to the workflow

  2. In the Message field, type text and add variables.
