Log to instance details

Use the Log to instance details action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. to log a message to the Instance details page.

The Log to instance details action is useful to test the accuracy of the variable values throughout your workflow.

For example, the Calculate a value action stores a calculation result value as a variable in your workflow. Before you publish your workflow to production, you want to check the action calculation is accurate. You add the variable to the action Message and run your workflow with assigned use for development.

When you check the instance of the workflow, you can see the calculation variable value logged correctly in the instance activity.

Configure the Log to instance details action

1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add, rename, and copy actions.

2. In the Message field, type text and add variables.
