What's New in K2 Cloud Update 14

This topic describes new features, improvements, behavioral changes and known issues for Update 14 released in October 2020.

  • Integration
    • Identity Providers: PATCH operation added to update users, and you can now use AND and OR operators to combine properties for filtering users.
    • SmartObject OData API v4: V4 of the SmartObject OData API exposes additional SmartObjects methods such as Create, Read, Update, Delete and Execute, in addition to the list methods supported in V3 of the OData API.
    • JavaScript Service Broker: You can now call the Workflow REST and SmartObject OData APIs from JSSP broker code.
  • Smartforms
    • Table control: Background tab added, with configurations for color, background image, shadow, and rounded corners.
    • Table control: Responsive property added, allowing table rows to automatically stack vertically on smaller screens.
    • Control Name extensibility: You can now use the control Name property to identify a specific control at runtime when using custom CSS and JavaScript. This feature is currently available on specific controls, such as the Calendar control.

  • If you are using K2 for SharePoint, you must re-run the K2 for SharePoint registration wizard after the update.

  • Download the enhanced Package and Deployment tool from https://<runtimeurl>/Management/Remote. Once downloaded, log a ticket with Nintex Customer Central to provide your public IP address ranges to K2 Operations. This allows access to your K2 Cloud environment from your network. Please see the Package and Deployment Considerations topic for further considerations about working with the Package and Deployment tool.
  • There are no known issues at the time of release.
Each release includes all bug fixes from preceding releases; see the release notes for previous releases for more details on bug fixes in previous versions. K2 Cloud includes the following additional bug fixes:
  • All bug fixes in K2 Cloud Update 12 Fix Packs 1-12.

  • When adding a new parameter, the forms services controller does not prohibit the creation of duplicate parameters. Parameters should be unique.

  • When integrating a form with a workflow, the forms services controller does not save parameters and results mappings.

  • When generating a PDF file, the K2 smartforms controls on the output were stacked under each other instead of the designed layout. This happened when the generated PDF file was created from a URL or when you have forms and views which were edited after upgrading to K2 Cloud Update 12.

  • In Management site, when clicking on the Mobile link rendered a "The SmartObject Unknown or one of its components could not be resolved....." error.

  • When using the When the View executed List item double click rule event on an Apple device, the rule action executed twice.
  • When using a Hyperlink control to point to a URL, the URL was converted into lowercase.
Fix Pack 6 December 2020
  • After upgrading to K2 Cloud Update 14 Fix Pack 4, workflow schedules did not execute and a "Too many workflow instances started within allowed period" error occurred.
  • When trying to execute data from OData/v3/EventInstances API endpoint, the response was very slow.
  • When trying to search for an AAD user in Management>Security Rights the user could not be found, even though the user is available in the Azure Portal.
Fix Pack 5 December 2020
  • When using Package and Deployment to deploy a package, some form rules did not show in the correct order as it was configured on the source environment.
  • When using the PDF Converter service, the service did not execute.
  • On an environment linked to a SyncEngine database and trying to clear the Identity States for ETL, the ETL did not respond.
  • When using a custom connector in Logic Apps to connect to the workflow API to start a workflow, and then try to call another workflow, an “Error executing the api '/workflows/125/schema’” error occurred.
Fix Pack 4 December 2020
  • When trying to create a Data Access Policy for Data objects and clicking the button to create a policy, the policy was not created.
  • An internal K2 system change was made to the Start Workflow Error Event. This change requires you to give the K2 Service Account (under the K2SQL security label) Start rights on the workflow (Target workflow) that is started when any workflow has an error. When updating to Fix Pack 04 you must redeploy all workflows started by this event.
Fix Pack 3 November 2020
  • When a user that was created in AAD after the Cloud Consent and AAD sync tries to login, a "[user] cannot be found" error occurred.
Fix Pack 2 November 2020
  • When using the K2 API to start workflows, an "Unauthorized error" occurred for the service account used to start the workflow.
Fix Pack 1 November 2020
  • When trying to rename a Decimal type property in an advanced SmartObject, a "The decimal places value you entered is invalid. It should be a number between 0 and 18" error occurred.
  • When editing a form in the Designer some of the form properties did not show, including the Form, Layout, Behavior, and Advanced menu options.
