Clear Highlight

The Clear Highlight action clears the highlight in a web table that was created by a Start Highlight or Search action. You might use a Clear Highlight action to:

  • Remove the highlight before using the Screenshot action so that the highlight is not included in the screenshot image.

  • Remove the highlight to avoid end-user confusion because users might not understand what the highlight is or why it is on the screen.

Create a Clear Highlight action

  1. Ensure that the Start Highlight action was used to highlight a table cell.

  2. Drag and drop the Selector tool onto the highlighted table cell to display the Target Preview .

  3. Click the Clear Highlight action to display the Action Builder.

    Note: The Clear Highlight action is only available when the Highlighted Target or Table is selected. To learn more about the rules for web tables, go to Build Pane.

  4. Click Rules to modify the connection for the action.

  5. Configure the timing and error settings to fine tune the how the action will run.

    Note: For more information about the timing and error settings, go to Action Builder.

  6. (Optional) Add Notes to the action to document any special instructions or functionality.

  7. Toggle the run switch to Run and click OK to execute and save the action.

    Note: The run switch is set to Run by default. To create or modify this action without executing it, click the slider to change the option to Don't Run.  For more information, go to Action Builder.
