Start Highlight

Use the Start Highlight and Move Highlight actions to copy information from a table that resides on a web page. Nintex Bot can be trained to systematically move through the rows and columns of a table to gather all of the information. The Start Highlight action tells Nintex Bot where to start.

Note: The Start Highlight action can only be used with tables residing on a web page. To learn more about the rules for web tables, go to Build Pane.

Create and run a Start Highlight action

  1. Drag and drop the Selector tool onto the target <="" li=""> to display the Target Preview .

  2. Click the Start Highlight action to display the Action Builder.

  3. Note: The Start Highlight action is only available when the Exact Target is selected. To learn more about the rules for web tables, go to Build Pane.

  4. Click Rules to modify how Nintex Bot will find the target.

  5. Configure the timing and error settings to fine tune the how the action will run.

  6. Note: For more information about the timing and error settings, go to Action Builder.

  7. (Optional) Modify the Row and Column of the targeted cell.

  8. (Optional) Add Notes to the action to document any special instructions or functionality.

  9. Toggle the run switch to Run and click OK to execute and save the action.

    Note: The run switch is set to Run by default. To create or modify this action without executing it, click the slider to change the option to Don't Run.  For more information, go to Action Builder.

    After the Start Highlight action is executed, the color of the targeted cell will change to indicate that the highlight has been started.

    Note: In rare cases, Nintex Bot may not be able to change the color of the cell.  However, Nintex Bot will still maintain knowledge of which cell should be highlighted.  If this occurs, continue writing the script as if the cell was highlighted.
