New Responsive Form designer

The Form designer with drag and drop functionality allows you to create forms easily. You can design your form, divide your form into multiple sections, configure multi-page forms, and define the types of data your form captures by adding different form controls.

The form designer page consists of the toolbar, form controls toolbox, and designer canvas. Form controls can be selected from the toolbox and placed anywhere in the form designer canvas to design your form.

Toolbar: The toolbar is at the top of the form designer and includes options such as save, export, and import.
Form control toolbox: The toolbox is available on the left of the form designer and contains all the controls available to design your form.
Form designer canvas: This is the area the controls are placed to create the form. After selecting a form control from the toolbox, you can drag and drop it into the canvas area to begin configuration of the control. Controls can be repositioned by simply clicking and dragging them to their required position on the page to design the form layout you want.

Toolbar

Use the options in toolbar to save or publish the form, undo and redo your recent changes, reset and import or export the form.

Button	Description
Save	Saves all your changes and closes the form designer.
Publish	Displays the Publish dialog box to publish the current form. After a list form is published go to the list and click New item to open the published form.
Close	Closes the form designer. Do the following in the dialog box that appears. Click Cancel to return to your form designer. Click Continue to close the form designer without saving your changes. If there are pending changes in the form they will be lost if you close the form designer.
Undo	Erases the last changes of your form.
Redo	Reapplies the changes that were deleted using the Undo button.
Reset	Resets the form. Do the following in the dialog box that appears. Click Cancel to return to the designer. Click Reset to confirm resetting the form. This regenerates all form elements and any configurations done to controls and new controls added to the form will be reset.
Delete	Deletes the current form.
Import	Displays the Open dialog box to select a file for import.
Export	Initiates browser process to download the form to a local file.

Configure pages

Create forms with multiple pages making it easier to navigate through the form. Large forms can be created with multiple pages and form users can navigate between pages by using the Next and Previous buttons or by clicking the Page numbers or titles. The Submit button is placed at the last page.

You can configure the form to display pages vertically or horizontally, and control whether users must step through the pages in sequence.

To add pages to your form:

Open the forms designer.
In the forms designer, click Configure pages.

The Pages configuration panel is displayed.

Click Add new page to add a new page to the form.

Add new page

Adds a new page to the form.

Type the title for your pages.

When you new add pages, the Page titles default to Page 1, Page 2, and so on.

Form pages display in the listed order. You can rearrange and delete pages using the options button beside each title.

Page title options

Button	Description
	Displays page menu options.
Move up	Moves the form page: Above the previous form page if the navigation layout is vertical. To the left of the previous form page if the navigation layout is horizontal.
Move down	Moves the form page: Below the next form page if the navigation layout is vertical. To the right of the next form page if the navigation layout is horizontal.
Delete	Removes the form page (and form controls on the form page).

Title size

Select the font size of the form page titles:

Small
Medium
Large

Navigation flow

Select how users can navigate through the form:

Step sequentially: users must progress through the form in the order the pages are listed.
Step non-sequentially: users can navigate between form pages in any order.

Navigation layout

Select whether the page layout is:

Vertical: form pages display from top to bottom.
Horizontal: form pages display from left to right.

Note: Horizontal navigation layout is unavailable on Nintex Mobile.

Header text

Type text to display at the top of every page in the form.

	Bold	Apply bold formatting to the selected text.
	Italic	Apply italic formatting to the selected text.
	Underline	Apply underline formatting to the selected text.
Format	Paragraph Format	Apply different heading sizes to the selected text: Normal Headings 1 to 6
	Numbered List	(Available only in larger dialog box) Convert selected text into one or more numbered list items.
	Bulleted List	(Available only in larger dialog box) Convert selected text into one or more bulleted list items.
	Left	Align the selected text to the left.
	Center	Center the selected text.
	Right	Align the selected text to the right.
	Justify	Distribute text evenly between left and right margins of the label control.
	Link	Add a hyperlink to selected text. When you click the Link button, the Rich text editor window presents two additional fields relating to the hyperlink: URL and Text. Type the URL and amend the Text, if necessary. Click OK to confirm the hyperlink for the text.
	Unlink	Remove a hyperlink. The unlink button becomes available after you click a hyperlink in the Header text or Rich text editor window.
	Full Screen	Display the field and toolbar buttons in a larger dialog box with additional toolbar buttons available.
	Outdent List Item	(Available only in larger dialog box) Decrease indentation for the selected list items.
	Indent List Item	(Available only in larger dialog box) Increase indentation for the selected list items.
	Insert Horizontal Line	(Available only in larger dialog box) Adds a horizontal line below typed text and adds a new paragraph.
