Form designer
The Form designer with drag-and-drop functionality allows you to create forms easily. You can design your form, divide your form into multiple sections, configure multi-page forms, and define the types of data your form captures by adding different form controls.
The Form designer page consists of the toolbar, form controls toolbox, and designer canvas. Form controls can be selected from the toolbox and placed anywhere in the form designer canvas to design your form.

Toolbar: The toolbar is at the top of the form designer and includes options such as save, export, and import.

Form control toolbox: The toolbox is available on the left of the form designer and contains all the controls available to design your form.

Form designer canvas: This is the area the controls are placed to create the form. After selecting a form control from the toolbox, you can drag and drop it into the canvas area to begin configuration of the control. Controls can be repositioned by simply clicking and dragging them to their required position on the page to design the form layout you want.

Use the options in toolbar to save or publish the form, undo and redo your recent changes, reset and import or export the form.

Save | Saves all your changes and closes the form designer. |

Displays the Publish dialog box to publish the current form. After a list form is published go to the list and click New item to open the published form. |
Close |
Closes the form designer. Do the following in the dialog box that appears.

Undo |
Erases the last changes of your form. |
Redo |
Reapplies the changes that were deleted using the Undo button. |
Reset |
Resets the form. Do the following in the dialog box that appears.

Delete |
Deletes the current form. |
Import |
Displays the Open dialog box to select a file for import. For details, see Import forms. |
Export |
Initiates browser process to download the form to a local file. |
Add a Save button to your form
- In the Form designer, click the Submit button.

Turn on the Save toggle.

If you want to change the button label, type a new button name in Save button text.
The Action panel is displayed.
The Save button is displayed on the canvas. By default, the button label is set to Save.

When a workflow is published, participants have the option to fill in part of the form, save it, and come back to continue from where they stopped at a later time.
Note: To return to the saved form, participants can open My Nintex, and then navigate to the Forms > Draft forms section, which displays a list of draft forms. Draft forms are forms that have been saved, but not been submitted yet.

The form toolbox contains form controls and workflow objects that you can use to create your form. For more information, see Form toolbox
Configure pages
Create forms with multiple pages making it easier to navigate through the form. Large forms can be created with multiple pages and form users can navigate between pages by using the Next and Previous buttons or by clicking the Page numbers or titles. The Submit button is placed at the last page.
You can configure the form to display pages vertically or horizontally, and control whether users must step through the pages in sequence.
To add pages to your form:
- Open the Form designer.
- Click Configure pages.
The Pages configuration panel is displayed.

Click Add new page to add a new page to the form.
