Part 3: Review and update workflows in Nintex Workflow

After you upgrade the workflow to Nintex Workflow, you can open the workflow in the Nintex Workflow workflow designer. You will need to review the workflow and complete the connections and configurations before publishing it. You must publish the workflow in Nintex Workflow to complete the upgrade process for the workflow.

1. Open a draft workflow

In the Automate > Workflows section of your Nintex Workflow tenant, click on a draft of an upgraded workflow to open it. The workflow is displayed in the Nintex Workflow workflow designer.

2. View the workflow upgrade details

To view the Workflow upgrade details, click Workflow upgrade details on the top right of the toolbar.

The Workflow upgrade details provide information about the migration of the workflow actions, including which are successfully mapped and which require further attention. Some actions will be migrated directly, but others may be migrated as multiple actions if there are no direct equivalents in Nintex Workflow.

Some actions may also be migrated unconfigured. You will need to complete the configuration of any unconfigured actions before you publish the workflow.

See Workflow action upgrade details for information about the action migrations.

Important:
  • The connections required for actions are not displayed in the upgrade report. You must open the configuration panel for the actions that require a connection and select a connection to complete the configuration.

  • If any connections are required for Start events, they must be applied first before adding connections to the remaining actions.

3. Apply connections

If there are any actions that require connections, apply the connections. The connections that are required for the workflows you are upgrading must be created before you upgrade the workflows. See 2. Create required connections in Nintex Workflow.

If any connections are required for Start events, they must be applied first before adding connections to the remaining actions.

  1. Apply connections to Start events.

  2. Apply connections to the remaining connector actions. Open the configuration panel for the actions that require connections and select the connection you want in the Connection field.

4. Update the unconfigured actions

You must configure all actions before you can publish the workflow in Nintex Workflow. Click Actions in use on the workflow designer toolbar to view a list of all the actions in the workflow and the unconfigured actions. For more information, see View actions in use.
