Use the Microsoft Teams - Clone a team action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. to create a copy of an existing team In the context of Microsoft Teams, a team is a collection of people, content, and tools that work together for a specific goal. For example, your company hosts a yearly event called "Annual Demo for Service Engineers" for 85 members and the organizer uses Microsoft Teams to centralize communication, view calendars, and pull / share files. You want to copy last year's team as a template for the same purpose this year.

Instead of creating a new team and add 85 members manually, you can use the Microsoft Teams - Clone a team action to clone the existing team and select to include apps, channels, members, settings, and tabs.

Configure the Microsoft Teams - Clone a team action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add, rename, and copy actions.

  2. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
  3. Select the Team to clone.
  4. Note: Team to clone drop-down list displays a maximum of up to 999 teams. If you want to select a team that is not in the list, you need to insert a variable in the Team to clone field.

  1. Type a New team name for new team.
  2. Select who can see or access your new team from the Privacy drop-down menu.
  3. In the Setting to clone field, click Add field to clone and copy at east one setting to the new team.
  4. In Output, assign a variable to store the result of the action. You can use this ID later in your workflow to reference the new tab.
