Azure Active Directory Administration - Update user

Note: Microsoft has changed the name of Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID. However, Nintex Automation Cloud and the help still refer to this product as Azure Active Directory.

The Azure Active Directory Administration - Update user action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. Actions are the steps the workflow performs to complete a process. updates a user's information in their Azure Active Directory account. You can configure what information should be updated, such as an address or phone number, job title, department, or name.

For example, when an employee requests a change of address, you update their account in Azure Active Directory with their new address.

Note: If you want to change a user's manager, use the Azure Active Directory Administration - Assign manager to user action. See Azure Active Directory Administration - Assign manager to user.

Configure the Azure Active Directory Administration - Update user action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add an action to the workflow.

  1. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
  2. Type the user's User name.

    This is commonly the user's email address.

  3. Add the fields you want to update:
    1. Click Add field.
    2. Each field corresponds to information you can update about the user, for example their job title, department, or employee ID.

    1. Check the box of the field corresponding to the user information you want to update.
    2. Tip: You can click Select all to automatically add all fields. To cancel your selections and begin again, click Clear selections.

    1. Click Add.
  4. For each field you selected, either type a value or select a variable.
