Categories
The Categories node contains all the categories defined in the K2 environment and will list the K2 artifacts such as SmartObjects , Views, Forms and Workflows that exist in the categories within the Categories system. Click on a Category to see the Views, Forms, SmartObjects and Workflows. From here you can perform a number of tasks for Views, Forms, SmartObjects and Workflows.
In each category folder, an administrator can rename, move, view and edit the items in the category folder.
Only workflows that were created in the browser-based designers such as K2 Designer will appear in the Categories system.
To rename a category folder, follow the steps below:
- Select a category folder in the categories tree and click Rename.
- The Rename Category page opens. Enter a new name for the category and click OK.
- To view the renamed category, select the Categories root folder in the Category tree, right click and select Refresh Menu. The renamed category is displayed.
To move a category folder, follow the steps below:
- Select a category folder from the categories tree and click Move.
- The Move Category page opens. Select the new location for the category, and click OK.
- The category folder will be moved to the chosen location.
The Edit option allows you to edit artifacts that exist in a category folder such as Forms, SmartObjects and Workflows.
To edit an item in a category folder, follow the steps below:
- Select the category folder where the artifact resides. In the window on the right, select the artifact and click Edit
- The artifact will open in K2 Designer for editing.
The Open button allows you to open a category folder or K2 artifacts properties page in the Categories node. (For example purposes, the steps below describe opening a K2 artifacts properties page. The same approach applies to opening sub folders.)
To open a category folder or K2 artifact, follow the steps below:
- Select a category folder from the categories tree, then select a K2 artifact and click Open link on the category folders root page.
- The K2 artifact properties page opens.
