What is the Move Cursor Action?

The Move Cursor Action allows you to move the cursor on an emulator screen to a desired location.

Creating a Move Cursor Action

Drag and drop the Selector onto the Targets list onto the target emulator to display the available target options. Continue to drag the Selector to the Cursor Position item, releasing your mouse to display the Target Preview. If this is the first time the emulator has been targeted, Nintex RPA will attempt to create an emulator connection automatically. (For more information about Emulator Connections, read the Emulator Connections article.)

Note: You can access an exact position by targeting it directly. A preview of the target is displayed, along with a button that allows you to modify the position to target. Select the Home Key from the Actions list.

Select the Rules to change the Connection for this Action. Both the Timing  and Error settings for this action may be configured to fine tune the how the Action will run.

Select how the cursor should be moved. The following move options are available:

Move to the target - Moves the cursor to the targeted coordinate

Move relative to the target - Moves the cursor to a location relative to the current position

When the Move relative to the target option is selected, you will be presented with additional options. Specify the Verticaland Horizontal options. The following Vertical options are available:

  • No change
  • Move down
  • Move up
  • Move to first row
  • Move to last row

When the Move up or Move down options are selected, you will be asked to provide the number of Vertical Movements to move the cursor. The following Horizontal options are available:

  • No change
  • Move left
  • Move right
  • Move to last column

When the Move left or Move right options are selected, you will be asked to provide the number of Horizontal Movements to move the cursor

Optionally add Notes to the Action to document any special instructions or functionality. When the Run Switchis set to Run, the action will be executed after clicking OK.

Note: The run switch is set to Run by default. To create or modify this action without executing it, click the slider to change the option to Don't Run.  For more information, see Action Builder.

Click the OK button to save the Action.
