Run Task

The Run Task action An instruction within a botflow. runs a specified task in a botflow Automated steps that you can design for each bot that will run..

Using the Run Task action, you can:

  • Run tasks that reside within the same botflow.
  • Embed tasks to run with other tasks.

Some examples of using the Run Task action are:

  • Logging into an ERP system as a preliminary step.
  • Prepping a dataset to use during botflow execution.
  • Running a set of repeatable actions.

Note: The Run Task action is ignored if the action is located in a task that is designated as the Error Task.

Add a Run Task action to a botflow

  1. On the Actions list, click Flow.
  2. From the Navigation list, click Run Task.

    3. The Run Task Action Builder displays.

  3. Set the Run Task settings.
  4. Type a task name in the Task field.
  5. If needed, adjust the Run Switch setting to create the action without running it.
  6. (Optional) Add an action note.
  7. Click OK to add the Run Task action to the botflow.

  • Task: Type a task name in the Task field, use the drop-down to select a task, or use the Expression Builder to build the action settings using variables or other token values.

Run Switch

The Run Switch toggle controls how Nintex Bot runs an action when adding or editing an action in a botflow.

  • Run: To run the action automatically when you click OK, switch the toggle to Run.

  • Don't Run: If you do not want to run the action automatically when you click OK, switch the toggle to Don't Run.
OK/Cancel Click OK to save the action or click Cancel to discard the action or any changes.
