Create and customize apps
Create an app to organize your Nintex Apps pages, connections, tables, workflows, documents, and user permissions. This makes app management easier and lets you share and deploy the app as a complete solution across different Nintex Apps environments.

Create an app

In the navigation bar, click Apps.

Click Create.

Type the App name.
This name appears in the user's My Apps selector.

Type the App URL.
This is the URL end users visit to access the app. It is a combination of your Nintex Apps environment URL and the path defined in this field. Although this field is auto-populated based on your app’s name, you can type any URL-encoded value.

Select the Design System from the drop-down.
The selected design system is applied by default to all pages within this app and included as an app resource. For more information, see Set an app's design system.

Select one of the following options to indicate whether your app pages use a shared layout:

Yes: (Default) Creates a principal page that defines shared elements. Each new dependent page inherits these elements. For more information, see Principal and dependent pages.

No: Sets your app's pages as standalone, with no shared elements.
Note: Even if you choose not to add a shared layout, you can create a principal page in your app later if needed.

Select an App layout.
Note: This option appears only for shared layout.

Navigation: Adds a navigation area to guide users through the app.

Horizontal: Displays a navigation bar across the top of the pages. This selection includes the Footer and Left sidebar grid divisions by default.

Vertical: Displays a navigation bar along the left side of the pages. This selection includes the Footer grid division by default.

None: No navigation bar is added.

Grid division: Divides the pages into structured sections. You can add components into the respective divisions to organize your content.

Header: Adds a header at the top.

Footer: Adds a footer at the bottom.

Left sidebar: Adds a sidebar on the left.

Right sidebar: Adds a sidebar on the right.

Preview: Displays a preview of the selected navigation and grid divisions. This allows you to preview the app structure before creating the app.

Click Create.

If the app uses a shared page layout, this opens the newly created principal page in the Page Designer.

If the app uses a standalone (non-shared) layout, this opens the app in the App Designer.

Work with apps

Click Apps in the navigation bar.

Select the app you want to edit in the list or click
next to the app, and click Details.This opens the App Designer. You can configure all app assets, including pages, connections, tables, workflows, documents, files, permissions, user access, and app settings. For more information, see App Designer.

Click Apps in the navigation bar.

Select the app you want to delete in the list or click
next to the app, and click Delete. -
Click Delete.

Click Apps in the navigation bar.

Select the app you want to preview in the list or click
next to the app, and click Preview.This opens the runtime version of the app in a separate tab.

Click Apps in the navigation bar.

Select the app you want to update the name or URL for from the list or click
next to the app, and click Details.This opens the App Designer.

In the Elements panel, click App settings. For more information, see App settings page.

Update the Name and App URL.

Click Save.
