Solutions

A solution is a collection of related assets that work together to solve a business problem. Solutions help you organize, manage, package, and deploy assets across environments. Solutions can include workflows, apps, document packages, tables, table forms, agents, and orchestrations.
Assets in a solution can only connect to and interact with other assets in the same solution. Connections, extensions, and plugins remain global and are not part of a solution.

Access to a solution is managed through solution roles. Users can view only the solutions they have access to, unless they are global administrators. Design-time access is controlled at the solution level, and runtime access is controlled at the asset level. There are two solution roles: Solution owner and Solution builder. Solution owners can manage permissions, invite collaborators, package the solution, and deploy the solution. Solution builders can create and manage assets in the solution.

A package is a deployable version of a solution. It includes the assets in the solution, except draft assets. After a package is created, it can be deployed to a target environment.

Access the Solutions page

• Go to Solutions > All solutions.

Solutions list

The Solutions page lists the solutions you own and the solutions shared with you. From here, you can view solutions and manage their assets.

• Create, open, edit and delete solutions.

• View and manage assets in a solution.

• Manage solution permissions.

• View solution details, including owners and editors.

Note: Users with the Designer role or higher can be assigned ownership of the Solution .

Create a solution

1. Go to Solutions > All solutions> Create solution.

2. In the How would you like to start dialog

   • To create a solution from scratch, click Create a solution.

   • To create a solution from a template, click View gallery. The template gallery opens in a new tab, select a template from the gallery.

     Note: Download the template and review the JSON files. You can then import the file to create the solution and edit the solution as required.

3. Type a name in the Solution name field.

   Note: The name must be unique and no more than 50 characters. Also, special characters (/ ^ $ . | ? * + ( ) < > ! \ @ # % & , [ ] : ; =) are not allowed in solution names. A warning is displayed if there's another solution with the same name in the tenant.

4. Type a description in the Solution description field.

5. Select a Color from the available options.

6. Click Create.

Import a solution

1. Go to Solutions > All solutions > Import.

2. Drag the file or click Select file.

3. Browse and select the file to import.

4. Click Open.

5. In Solution name, type a name for your solution.

   Note: Importing a solution with the same name overwrites the existing solution.

6. Click Import.

Manage Solutions

You can edit, delete, and export solutions with the options available in the Solutions page.

Edit a solution

• On the Solutions page, click the name of the solution you want to open, or click next to the solution and select Edit.

Delete a solution

• On the Solutions page, click next to the solution and select Delete.

Export a solution

• On the Solutions page, click next to the solution and select Export.

The solution is exported as a downloadable .zip file. Only Solution owners can export a solution.

Solutions columns, settings, and selections

Section	Field, button, or columns	Description
Tile view		Displays solutions as tiles.
List view		Displays solutions in a list.
(unlabeled)	Name	The solution name. Select the name to open the solution and view all assets.
	Description	Displays the description provided for the solution, if available.
	Total assets	Displays the total number of assets in the solution.
	Owner	The name of the solution owner.
	Last edited	The date and time the solution was last edited.
Options		Edit: Opens the selected solution to view and manage its assets. Delete: Deletes the selected solution. Only Solution owners can delete a solution. All assets within the solution must be deleted before the solution can be deleted. Export: Exports the selected solution as a .zip file for download. Only Solution owners can export a solution.
