Tag templates

Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.

This topic describes how to tag templates.

Pull workflow data into the template by tagging templates with the Nintex Document Tagger. Tagging steps depends on file type.

To tag a Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint template

  1. Open the Nintex Document Tagger: In the Document Generation action, select the template you want and then click Open and tag.

  2. In the template, place your cursor where you want the tag to appear.

  3. Do one of the following to add the tag to the template.

    Note: Some tags require a start tag. For more information, see Use repeated format types.

    • To insert a tag: In the Nintex Document Tagger, select the tag you want.

      The tag is inserted where the cursor was positioned in the document.

    • To copy a tag: In the Nintex Document Tagger, to the right of the tag, click the icon and then click Copy.

      The tag is copied to your clipboard and appears where you paste it.

To tag a Microsoft Excel template

  1. Open the Nintex Document Tagger: In the Document Generation action, select the template that you want and then click Open and tag.

  2. In the template, select the cell or range of cells that you want to tag.

  3. In the Nintex Document Tagger, select the tag you want. The tag is copied to your clipboard.

    Note: Some tags require a start tag. For more information, see Use repeated format types.

  4. Paste the copied tag into the Name Box field in Microsoft Excel.
