System Requirements

The Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK consists of the following components:

Online documentation
Visual Studio 2012 project templates

A set of project templates with which you can develop custom workflow actions in Nintex Workflow 2013. For more information, see Installing and using Visual Studio templates.
Visual Studio 2012 sample projects

A set of sample projects are provided to demonstrate how to create and deploy custom workflow actions for Nintex Workflow 2013. For more information, see Installing and using Visual Studio samples.

The online documentation can be viewed using any compatible browser, including (but not limited to):

Microsoft Internet Explorer, versions 8.0 and later
Mozilla Firefox, versions 27.0 and later
Google Chrome, versions 32.0 and later

Before installing and using the templates and samples included with the Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK, however, you must first ensure that your development environment meets the necessary hardware and software requirements.

Hardware requirements

The templates and samples included with Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK depend on SharePoint 2013 functionality. The same minimum hardware requirements necessary for a SharePoint 2013 development environment are required to use the templates and samples provided with Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK.

Software requirements

The templates and samples included with Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK depend on functionality from both Visual Studio 2012 and SharePoint 2013. The same minimum software requirements necessary for a SharePoint 2013 development environment using Visual Studio 2012 are required to use the templates and samples provided with Nintex Workflow 2013 SDK.

At a minimum, the following software must be installed:

Operating system	Any one of the following: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL Server	Any one of the following: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Microsoft SQL Server 2014
SharePoint	Any one of the following: SharePoint 2013 Foundation SharePoint 2013 Server
Visual Studio	All of the following: Visual Studio 2012, with the following optional features: Microsoft Office Developer Tools Microsoft SharePoint Developer Tools Microsoft Web Developer Tools Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012 Direct download link from Microsoft here.
Nintex Workflow 2013	The following assemblies must be available in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC): Nintex.Workflow.ApplicationPages.dll Nintex.Workflow.ApplicaitonPagesV14.dll Nintex.Workflow.dll Nintex.Workflow.ServerControls.dll Nintex.Workflow.WebServices.dll Either install Nintex Workflow 2013, or manually copy the assemblies from the GAC of an existing Nintex Workflow 2013 installation.
