What is the Text Message Action?

The Text Message Action sends a text message to one or more recipients.

Text Messages are sent via "email-to-text".  That is, an email is sent to the recipient's "email-to-text" email address as provided by their cell phone carrier.  The format of the email address differs for each carrier.  For convenience, several carriers are provided:

Creating a Text Message Action

Note: Before an email message can be sent, the Botflow must be properly configured with the appropriate email settings.  For more information about setting up your email settings, read the Botflow Properties article.

Select Interaction Actions to expand the Action list. Select theText Message Action from the Actions list to display the Action Builder.

The Error  settings for this action may be configured to fine tune the how the Action will run.

Enter the Message you wish to send.  Add one or more Recipients by clicking Add.  When adding a recipient, you must specify the Carrier and Phone Number.  The Carrier is required in order to determine which "email-to-text" email address to use when sending the Text Message.

Optionally add Notes to the Action to document any special instructions or functionality. When the Run Switchis set to Run, the action will be executed after clicking OK.

Note: The run switch is set to Run by default. To create or modify this action without executing it, click the slider to change the option to Don't Run.  For more information, go to Action Builder.

Click the OK button to save the Action.
