Process Capture overview

Important: Process Capture is currently in Advanced Preview testing. Please contact Nintex support for further information.

To create a process model, your Promaster must have enabled the Process Capture add-on and granted access to your role.

Process Capture harnesses AI to swiftly document processes directly from real user activities, reducing manual effort and ensuring objective documentation. This is all seamlessly integrated within Process Manager for optimal clarity and compliance with writing guideline. By using Process Capture to record step-by-step activities you minimize human error and enhance consistency, ensuring adherence to documented best practices and improving process reliability.

The key to creating manageable processes is to keep them simple. Break up complex processes into smaller sub-processes that can be linked. For more guidance on creating good processes use the same concepts as the Process writing guidelines

Process Capture has three basic steps:

  1. Record user actions and tasks - this uses the Process Capture widget.

  2. Analyze those images and meta data using cognitive AI to create the draft process.

  3. Review of the draft steps - you can delete actions and steps that are not needed.

The draft process can then be accessed in the procedure panel, allowing you to assign actions and add further content to it.

Note: Process Capture does not collect back-end information from log files or databases. The Process Capture widget does not capture text strings typed by users such as passwords (though textual information is extracted from screen shots when generating a procedure).

See Using Process Capture for information about using Process Capture.
