Previous: Before you start
Part 1: Populate the Upgrade Center
To populate the Upgrade Center with your SharePoint On-Premises workflows, you will need to run the workflow extraction script. To download and run the workflow extraction script, you must have:
-
Access to the server running the SharePoint Central Administration

At least version 5 of PowerShell
-
An administrator account with SPShellAdmin privileges
The Nintex workflow extraction script only works with SharePoint 2013, 2016, and 2019.
1. Enable the Upgrade Center
Contact your Nintex Account Manager or Customer Success Manager to enable your Upgrade Center.
2. Download the workflow extraction script package
Download the Upgrade Center extraction script package here.
3. Run the workflow extraction script

4. Import the package file

-
Click on Upgrade center in the left navigation panel.
Note: To view the Upgrade center, you need at least Automation Administrator permissions in Nintex Workflow.

Note: The package file to import will be the file created as an output from running the workflow extraction script. It will be located in the directory chosen in the step above. -

-
Click Import.
-
A list of your Nintex Workflow for SharePoint On-Premises workflows will be generated in the Upgrade inventory tab. From here, you can view details about each workflow and select them for upgrading to Nintex Workflow. You can select individual workflows for upgrading or upgrade multiple workflows at once.
Note: Upgrading workflows does not publish them. See Part 2: Upgrade workflows.
5. Review the site mapping
Use the Site mapping tab to view and update, if necessary, the list of site mappings. (A site mapping indicates the SharePoint On-Premises site URL and its corresponding SharePoint Online site URL.)
Important: Some site mappings may be missing or incorrect: it is important to review and update these before upgrading your workflows.
