Before you start
Follow these steps before you start upgrading your workflows from Nintex Workflow for SharePoint On-Premises to Nintex Workflow.
1. Migrate your SharePoint On-Premises data to SharePoint Online
You will need to migrate all the data (like lists, list forms, and libraries) from your Nintex Workflow for SharePoint On-Premises farm to SharePoint Online before you upgrade your workflows to Nintex Workflow.
2. Set up your Nintex Workflow tenant and enable the Upgrade Center
Set up the Nintex Workflow tenant you will be upgrading the workflows to. If you don't already have a Nintex Workflow tenant, you must first sign up and set up the tenant.

If you already have a Nintex Workflow tenant, contact your Nintex Account Manager or Customer Success Manager to enable the Upgrade Center.

If you don’t have a Nintex Workflow tenant, you can request one in Customer Central.
-
Log in to Customer Central and navigate to the Licenses page.
-
Click the Add License and complete the form to request your Nintex Workflow tenant.
After you submit the form, you will receive an email to set up your account. Follow the instructions in the email to access to your new Nintex Workflow tenant.
3. (Optional) Integrate the SharePoint Online tenant with the Nintex Workflow tenant
After creating your Nintex Workflow tenant and migrating your SharePoint On-Premises data to SharePoint Online, you can optionally set up the integration between your SharePoint Online tenant and your Nintex Workflow tenant. The integration allows you to access your Nintex Workflow tenant from SharePoint Online.
This integration can be done through the SharePoint Integration feature available under Settings in Nintex Workflow. You can integrate an entire SharePoint Online tenant or specific sites and site collections.
After the integration, when you open a Nintex Workflow from the integrated SharePoint Online tenant, site, or site collection, you are directed to the Nintex Workflow tenant.
4. Create required connections in Nintex Workflow
Before upgrading workflows with connector actions, you must create the required connections in Nintex Workflow. This includes creating a SharePoint Online connection if you have any SharePoint Online connection actions in your workflows. For information about creating connections, see Manage connections.
