Slack - Create a channel

The Slack - Create a channel action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. makes a new channel in a Slack workspace. For more information about the Slack connector, see Slack.

Note: Channel names have a 21-character limit and can include lowercase letters, non-Latin characters, numbers, and hyphens. See the SlackCreate a channel Help Center topic for more information.

Configure the Slack - Create a channel action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add, rename, and copy actions.

  2. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.

  3. Select a Channel type.
  4. Type the Name of the channel you want to create.
  5. Select a variable from the Store channel ID drop-down to store the new channel's ID.

Channel type

Filter the Channels drop-down by type. Public channels can be seen by any member of the workspace. Private channels can only be seen by users who have been invited.
