Cloudmersive - PDF - Protect a PDF

Use the Cloudmersive - PDF - Protect a PDF action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. Actions are the steps the workflow performs to complete a process. to encrypt a PDF document with a password. Set an owner password to control owner (editor/creator) permissions, and set a user (reader) password to control the viewer of the PDF. Set the password fields null to omit the given password.

Configure the Cloudmersive - PDF - Protect a PDF action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add an action to the workflow.

  1. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
  1. Specify the PDF File to encrypt.
  2. Specify password and encryption type.
  3. Create or select a variable for the output.

File

The PDF file that you want to encrypt.

Note: Your tenancy's default file storage location must be configured to hold files for later reference by the workflow. This location is used for uploaded files and for files stored as output from actions.

  Reader password Password of a user (reader) of the PDF file. Leave blank to remove an existing password. None
  Owner password Password of a owner (creator/editor) of the PDF file. Leave blank to remove an existing password. None
  Encryption The encryption type to use. Possible values are 128 (128-bit RC4 encryption) and 256 (256-bit AES encryption). Default is 256. Text, Decimal, Integer, Boolean, DateTime, Collection
Output PDF file

Stores the PDF file with the password as a file object.
