I received an email notifying me of scheduled maintenance. What does this mean?

I just received a long Error ID. It say's the Nintex staff has been notified. How can I troubleshoot?

Because Nintex DocGen for Salesforce is a managed package, Nintex receives all errors. To troubleshoot the issue, you must contact Nintex Support. You can do so by filling out this form.

When I go to a Salesforce record on a custom object, I do not see a button. What should I do?

If you are on a custom object and do not see a button, most likely you need to create a custom button. A walkthrough for this can be found here.

When a user selects the Generate Documents button, they do not see any DocGen Packages. Why not?

Their profile or role hasn't been added to a DocGen Package's security settings yet. You can learn more here.

Can I get a list of records from a related object into my document?

Yes, you can do this with Row replication. Row replication is unique for each document type. To learn more, see Replication.

I do not want to have my users push a button to generate documents. Can we have a workflow or Salesforce action trigger a DocGen Package?

Yes, we do support Automated DocGen Packages. You need to have Enterprise Edition and the Workflow/Apex DocGen Packages add-on added to your license first. You can call a Nintex Sales rep to add the services to your license:

Can I generate documents for several DocGen Packages at one time?

Yes, we do support this. You need to have Enterprise Edition and the Mass DocGen Packages add-on added to your license. You can call a Nintex Sales rep to add the services to your license:

How can I hide the contact selection list on the generate documents page?

You must add the hidecontact=true parameter to your URL button. A walkthrough for this can be seen with this video.

How can I have a contact automatically selected for the first step on the generate documents page?

You must add the contactid parameter to your URL button. Documentation is on this page.

What is the difference between Row Replication and Table Replication?

Row replication produces a new line within a table for each child record related to a parent object, while table replication produces a new table of data for each child record related to a parent object.

My Scheduled DocGen Packages stopped running. How do I fix this?

Most likely, the credentials used to authorize Scheduled DocGen Packages have changed or are no longer valid. A Salesforce administrator needs to authorize the app again. For more information, see Authorize an Integration User.

My users receive a message saying "You do not have access to the LOOP Custom Objects". What does this mean?

This means they do not have read permissions to the custom objects related to the LOOP package. You must Deploy LOOP to their profile.

How can I upgrade to the latest version of the app?

Upgrading the app is the same as installing the app. You can view how to install the app by watching this video.

How do I tag my document for contact roles?

It depends on which object your contact roles related list is on. Either way it will require a relationship between your contact role object, the object on which you based your DocGen Package, and a unique tagging process. To see an example of a document tagged for Opportunity Contact Roles, watch the following video.

How do I replace my documents?

Go into your DocGen Package, double-click the document you would like to replace, and then click replace document. Browse to find your new document and upload it. You can watch this step by step video on how to replace your document

What language support does Nintex DocGen for Salesforce include?

What determines the time zone used in a Scheduled DocGen Packages?

The time zone used in Scheduled DocGen Packages is dependent on the time zone of the browser being used by the DocGen Package Admin.

How do I switch my interface to the Salesforce Classic designer?

By default the Salesforce Lightning designer loads for all users of Nintex DocGen. For users who would like to continue to use the Salesforce Classic designer interface you can still switch over to Classic designer through your Salesforce profile. For more information on switching to Salesforce Classic, refer to switching to Salesforce Classic.

Who receives Outbound Message errors?

The primary recipient is the User to Send As in the Outbound Message settings. If we are able to pull valid DocGen Package info, the error will also be emailed to the DocGen Package Owner. An instance where we are not able to pull valid DocGen Package info is if there was no DocGen Package Id supplied or the DocGen Package has been deleted or the User to Send As does not have access to the DocGen Package for the Id specified.

How do I disable compatibility mode in Internet Explorer?

You can disable compatibility mode in Internet Explorer. For more information, see .

How do I turn on Salesforce Files Sync?

You can use Salesforce Files Sync with Pause to Edit, but first you have to configure Salesforce Files Sync. It's a three-step process.

  1. Enable Salesforce Files Sync for your organization.
  2. Enable the Sync File permission on your profile.
  3. Download and install the Salesforce Files Sync client onto your computer.

What is Lightning LockerService Security and should I disable it?

Nintex DocGen for Salesforce version 12 is compatible with Lightning LockerService Security. If you're using version 12 or higher of the app, you can ignore this item.

Lighting LockerService Security is a critical update that provides increased security for Lightning Components. In some Developer Edition organizations, Salesforce activates LockerService by default. LockerService can restrict version 10 and 11 of Nintex DocGen, which includes several Lightning Components. To use those version of the app, you must deactivate LockerService.

Note:  In Developer organizations created with Environment Hub, Salesforce does not enable Lightning LockerService Security by default.

Deactivate Lighting LockerService Security

  1. From Setup, type Critical Updates in the Quick Find box, then select Critical Updates.
  2. In Update Name, find Enable Lightning LockerService Security with a status of Activated and click Deactivate.

Note: If this update does not exist, LockerService is not a Critical Update for your organization and you cannot deactivate it. Your organization can run Nintex DocGen for Salesforce without any impact from LockerService.

How will I know if Lightning LockerService Security is restricting Nintex DocGen for Salesforce?

Nintex DocGen for Salesforce version 12 is compatible with Lightning LockerService Security. If you're using version 12 or higher of the app, you can ignore this item.

Because it's designed to secure only Lightning Components, Lightning LockerService Security only restricts versions 10 and 11 of Nintex DocGen, when you are using Lightning Components in the app.

  • In Nintex DocGen version 11 and above, you will see this message, if you are using the Nintex Admin tab.
  • You can't use this page/component with Lightning LockerService Security activated. A Salesforce administrator can deactivate LockerService to enable this page.

  • In Nintex DocGen version 10, you will get a generic error message if you are using the Admin tab.

What is my Organization ID (Org ID) and how can I locate it?

Your organization ID is the unique identify for your Salesforce identity. You will need this ID when opening a case with Nintex support. Your Org ID appears on the Nintex Admin tab, in the Support box.
