Actions

The Actions page displays the following information for the configured data connections Method of connecting with Nintex platform capabilities e.g. a Nintex Workflow Cloud tenant that Nintex Insights displays data for in your dashboard.:

Access the Actions page

  1. On the upper-right of the Nintex Insights home page, click Insights.
  2. Click Actions in the side navigation menu. The Actions page displays the following details:

Interpret Count of actions in workflows data

The Count of actions in workflows widget displays the number of workflows for different action count ranges.

Note: The Count of actions in workflows widget displays data only for the data connections that have an activated status. For more information, see Data connections.

For example, if an organization is in the process of migrating from SharePoint to Nintex Automation Cloud. With the Count of actions in workflows data, IT administrators can monitor the migration progress as well as the complexity (based on action count) of the pending workflows to be migrated.

Actions

The Actions section displays the following details:

Field Description
Search action name Search for specific actions by action name.
(More options) Displays the Export CSV option which can be used to export the actions list as a .csv file.
Action Lists the actions from the configured data connections. Click on an action to view more details. For more information, see View action details.
Data connection type

Type of data connection. Values can be:

  • Nintex Automation Cloud.

  • Nintex for Office 365: added as a SharePoint Online data connection.
  • Nintex for SharePoint: added as a SharePoint data connection.
Workflows with action Lists the number of workflows containing the action.
Action use count Lists the number of times the action is used in the workflows within the relevant data connection.

View action details

  1. On the upper-right of the Nintex Insights home page, click Insights.
  2. Click Actions in the side navigation menu. The Actions page displays.
  3. In the Actions section, search or scroll to locate the workflow you want to view more details for.
  4. In the Action column, click on the action name. The <action name> page displays the following details:

Refresh Refresh

Refreshes the workflow data in the Workflows section.
  Search workflows Search for specific workflows by workflow name.
Workflows

Workflow name

Lists the workflows containing the relevant action. Click on a workflow name to view more details. For more information, see Workflows.
 

Type

Type of workflow. Values can be:

  • Development: Intended for testing and development use only. Counts as a development workflow under your subscription license.
  • Production: Intended for production use. Counts as a production workflow under your subscription license.
  • Unknown: The data is not yet available in Nintex Insights.
  Data connection type

Type of data connection. Values can be:

  • Nintex Automation Cloud.

  • Nintex for Office 365: added as a SharePoint Online data connection.
  • Nintex for SharePoint: added as a SharePoint data connection.
  Location

Location of the workflow. Values can be:

  • Site, List, or Library for SharePoint and SharePoint Online.
  • Tenant name for Nintex Automation Cloud.
  Last published Date when the workflow was last published.
  Published by Name of the user who published the workflow.
  (More options) Displays the Export CSV option which can be used to export the workflows list as a .csv file.

Search actions

The Actions section lists the actions and their usage counts within each configured data connections. To search an action, do the following:

  • In the Actions section, click the search field.
  • Type the action name.
  • The search results are displayed in the Actions section.

Export actions

To export the actions list.

  1. In the Actions section, click .
  2. Click Export CSV.
  3. A .csv file is downloaded listing the action details - data connection types, number of workflows with the action, and action usage count.

Refresh the Actions page

  1. On the upper-right of the Nintex Insights home page, click Insights.

  2. Click Actions in the side navigation menu. The Actions page displays.
  3. On the top-right of the Actions page, click Refresh.

Filter actions

Use the Filter option to filter actions based on one or more data connection types.

  1. On the upper-right of the Nintex Insights home page, click Insights.

  2. Click Actions in the side navigation menu. The Actions page displays.
  3. On the top-right of the Actions page, click Filter. The Filter type and Select filter option drop-down lists are displayed.
  4. From the Filter drop-down list, select Data connection type.
  5. From the Select filter option drop-down list, select the data connection type. You can select multiple connection types.
  6. Click Apply to apply the filter criteria and display the filtered Count of actions in workflows widget and Actions list based on the selected connection type(s).
