Nintex RPA Chrome Extension is disabled in your browser
Note: This troubleshooting topic applies to both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.
If you get an error message, "Nintex RPA Chrome Extension is disabled in your browser," or if the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension cannot be reached, complete the following tasks to troubleshoot the issue:
Enable group policy
Enable the group policy that will Allow user-level native messaging hosts (installed without admin permissions). For more information about this policy in Microsoft Edge, read about Microsoft Edge updates.
Verify that Nintex RPA Chrome Extension is installed

In the top right corner of a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser, click the Extensions icon.

Select Manage extensions.

Verify that Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Google Chrome is installed and enabled.
Check for missing registry keys
In Task Manager, verify that NintexRPAChromiumChannel.exe is running. If NintexRPAChromiumChannel.exe is not running, a registry key may be missing.
- Open the Registry Editor on your machine.
- Ensure that the following registry key and value exists on your machine so that NintexRPAChromiumChannel.exe can properly launch and allow Nintex RPA LE to communicate with the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension running in Google Chrome. If it does not exist, go to step 3.
Registry Key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts\nintexrpa
Registry Value: This value contains the path to the manifest (JSON file) associated with the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension.
Name: (Default)
Type: REG_SZ
Value: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nintex\RPA\NintexRPAChromiumChannel_Manifest.json

If the registry key and value in step 2 does not exist on your machine, create the missing key and value:
- Navigate to registry key Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts\.
- Right-click on the NativeMessagingHosts key, select New > Key, and name the new key nintexrpa.
- Set the (Default) value to C:\Program Files (x86)\Nintex\RPA\NintexRPAChromiumChannel_Manifest.json (default installation location for Nintex RPA LE).
- Open the Registry Editor on your machine.
- Ensure that the following registry key and value exists on your machine so that NintexRPAChromiumChannel.exe can properly launch and allow Nintex RPA LE to communicate with the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension running in Google Chrome. If it does not exist, go to step 3.

- Restart the machine.
- Open the Registry Editor on your machine.
- Ensure that the following registry key and value exists on your machine so that NintexRPAChromiumChannel.exe can properly launch and allow Nintex RPA LE to communicate with the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension running in Microsoft Edge. If it does not exist, go to step 3.
Registry Key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Edge\NativeMessagingHosts\nintexrpa
Registry Value: This value contains the path to the manifest (JSON file) associated with the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension.
