Target Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Reader DC
Before Nintex Bot can target An element within an application Nintex RPA LE interacts with, such as a button, text field, or checkbox. Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2021, you must:

Enable accessibility settings in DC or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Set Adobe reading options as an action in botflow in Nintex Bot.

Targeting Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC will fail if accessibility settings and Adobe reading options in Nintex Bot are not configured.

Nintex Bot cannot target Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2022.003.20263 and higher because the setting required to target these applications is no longer being saved. Therefore, the Extract PDF Pages, Merge PDFs, and Split PDF actions do not work in PDF file versions 2.0 or higher.
1. Enable accessibility settings
Follow the steps below to enable accessibility settings in Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat, depending on which Adobe Acrobat product you want to target.
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2021.

Click Edit > Accessibility > Setup Assistant.
The Accessibility Setup Assistant screen displays.

Select Set all accessibility options and click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 2 of 5:

Set the Field highlight color to Light Blue.

Set the Required field highlight color to Light Red.
-
Select Always display the keyboard selection cursor.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 3 of 5:

Select Infer reading order from document (recommended).
-
Select Confirm before tagging documents.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 4 of 5:

Select Only read the currently visible pages.

Select Override Page Layout Style.
-
Set the Page Layout to Single Page.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 5 of 5:

Select Disable document auto-save.
-
Select Reopen documents to the last viewed page.

Click Done.

Adobe Acrobat DC
-
Open Adobe Acrobat DC version 2021.

Click Tools > Accessibility > Add.

Click on the Accessibility link on the right-panel.
The Accessibility tools menu displays.

Click Setup Assistant.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant:

Select Set all accessibility options.
-
Click Next.
-

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 2 of 5:

Set the Field highlight color to Light Blue.

Set the Required field highlight color to Light Red.
-
Select Always display the keyboard selection cursor.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 3 of 5:

Select Infer reading order from document (recommended).

Select Confirm before tagging documents.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 4 of 5:

Select Override Page Layout Style.

Set the Page Layout to Single Page.

Click Next.

In Accessibility Setup Assistant, Screen 5 of 5:

Select Disable document auto-save.

Select Reopen documents to the last viewed page.

Click Done.

Click Close.

2. Set Adobe reading options as an action in a botflow

Open an Adobe form in Adobe Acrobat DC or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, depending on which Adobe Acrobat product you want to use.

Open Nintex Bot v17 or higher.

From the Build Pane Area to add new actions and edit existing actions. The Build Pane displays after you select a targeted element in a Windows application. The center of the Build Pane is referred to as the Task Editor Pane., drag the Target Selector and drop it onto the Adobe Acrobat tab for your Adobe form in step 1.
The Target Preview displays.
- From the Data actions list, select Send Value.
The Send Value Action Builder window displays.
- In the Send field, enter [^Shift+Ctrl+5][^Enter].
- Set Mode to None.
- Set Speed to Very slow.

Click OK.
