What is the Rename Folder Action?

The Rename Folder Action renames one or more Windows folders.

Creating a Rename Folder Action

Select Files & Folders Actions to expand the Action list. Select the Rename Folder Action from the Actions list to display the Action Builder.

Both the Timing  and Error settings for this action may be configured to fine tune the how the Action will run.

Note: For more information about the timing and error settings, go to Action Builder.

Enter the Name of the folder(s) to rename. Be sure to enter the full folder path.

Note: When entering the folder path , an asterisk (wildcard character) can be used to select multiple folders.  The following example selects all the subfolders in the directory:  "C:\MyFolder\*".

Enter a New Name for the folder to be renamed.  Do not include the folder path, only the folder name. For example, rather than entering "C:\NewFolderName", you would enter the folder name only:  "NewFolderName".

Note: When renaming multiple folders simultaneously, the new folder name you provide will be used to rename all folders.  to prevent a folder name conflict, Nintex RPA LE automatically increments the folder name.  For example, if the new desired folder name is "NewFolderName" and 3 folders were selected to be renamed, the folders would be given the following names:  "NewFolderName_01", "NewFolderName_02", "NewFolderName_3"

If the new folder name matches the name of an existing folder in the directory, the Action will fail unless you check the Overwrite option . This will instruct Nintex RPA LE to replace the existing folders with the folder that is being renamed.

The Options section allows you to further refine which folders are selected.  Enabling any of the these options will only include folders with specific attributes. You have the ability to filter folders by:
