Anonymous forms

Anonymous forms allows users to open and submit a form without signing in. You can create anonymous start forms and task forms.

To allow anonymous submission in forms:

  • Start forms: Set Form access to Anyone with the form URL. For information about configuring a start form, see Nintex - Form.

  • Task forms: Disable Assignee authentication in the configuration of the Assign a task to multiple users action. For information about configuring task forms, see Assign a task to multiple users.

Note:
  • Make sure you add the Save button to the form in the action panel while creating the form. The Save button lets participants save their changes to a form, and continue to edit the form or submit it later. For more details on how to enable Save on forms, see Form designer.
  • Saving drafts isn’t supported for embedded anonymous forms.

Users can save a draft and resume later with an encrypted return link. Draft data is stored in the user’s browser and not on Nintex servers. If the return link is altered or incomplete, the draft can’t be restored. An error message appears and a new form opens for a new submission.

Save anonymous draft form

  1. Open the form.

  2. Enter field details.

  3. Click Save.

  4. A pop-up appears with instructions to restore your draft. Review the instructions, then select Copy link to copy the return link.
Store the link in a safe place to resume and complete the form later.

Note:
  • The return link length depends on the browser and any corporate proxy. Modern browsers support URLs of at least 8,192 characters. Some proxies may allow fewer.

  • Signature field data is not saved. Users must sign before submitting.

Resume and submit anonymous draft form

  1. Open the return link you copied when you saved the draft form.

  2. Resume where you left off and complete the form.

  3. Click Submit.
