AI Assistant

Important: This is a Beta feature.

Use the AI Assistant feature to build pages leveraging the power of AI. You can describe the page and contents that you want, and within seconds, it is built. You can then use the AI Assistant to refine the page. The AI Assistant can:

  • Generate and edit page content

  • Explain what it’s doing and show its reasoning after generation

  • Suggest the next best actions as you build

  • Answer how-to questions and provide links to help references

Starting from a blank canvas is hard. Whether you’re new to Nintex Apps or a veteran builder, spinning up something meaningful takes time. The AI Assistant cuts that ramp-up time. Simply tell it what you need and it generates a starting point you can refine.

Beta Feature. The AI features in Nintex Workflow are beta features that provide new generative-AI experiments. Use is voluntary and for experimental purposes only, and your admin can turn off access to it at any time.

Integration with Azure OpenAI. AI features are enabled by integration with Azure OpenAI Service, which comes with Microsoft's built-in Responsible AI and enterprise-grade Azure security. You can learn more about Azure OpenAI Service here and about Microsoft’s applicable data, privacy, and security measures here. You acknowledge and agree that Nintex leverages Azure OpenAI Service to provide these AI features. By using AI features, you authorize and agree that Azure OpenAI Service may access, use, and store any Inputs and Outputs pursuant to its relevant terms and privacy policies.

Modification of Access and Use. Nintex may limit, modify, suspend, discontinue, or terminate your access to AI features at any time, with or without cause (without notice to you). Nintex may also separate these AI features from the Services at any time (without notice to you). Or Nintex may require payment for future or continued use (with notice to you). Nintex is not in any way liable to you for any limitation, modification, suspension, discontinuation, termination, or separation. Without limitation, the laws and regulations governing artificial intelligence and related technology are uncertain and evolving, and the ability to use these AI features may be adversely impacted in the future.

Inputs and Sensitive Information. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you make available while using the AI features (collectively, “Inputs”) is appropriate and permissible under Nintex’s Customer Use Policy and that you have the right to use such Inputs. In using the AI features, you are advised to safeguard important data; to not input confidential, personal, or sensitive information; and to use caution, particularly in relation to the Inputs.

Outputs and Verification. You are also responsible for any information, materials, or other content you generate using AI features (collectively, “Outputs”). You acknowledge that Outputs may not be accurate, complete, reliable, or otherwise fit for use (including from a legal and/or business perspective). Any Outputs should only be used as a starting point, and you should independently verify and cross-reference the Outputs with other reliable sources to ensure that the information or content is accurate, lawful, and otherwise appropriate and permissible under Nintex’s Customer Use Policy and before making any decisions or taking any actions based on the Outputs. You understand and agree that Outputs may not be unique across users and the AI features could generate the same or similar Output for other users. In addition, other users may input similar prompts and receive the same, similar, or different responses. You are not required to use any Outputs and should modify it as appropriate to ensure compliance with applicable laws, this notice, any applicable agreement with Nintex, and Nintex’s Customer Use Policy. Your use of the AI features and any content resulting from such use is entirely at your own risk. Nintex is not responsible or liable to you for the use of AI features or any Outputs. It is provided as-is without any warranties or guarantees of accuracy.

Acknowledgment. By using AI features, you acknowledge and accept that: (i) AI features integrates with third-party software tools provided by Azure OpenAI Service; (ii) your use is subject to this Disclaimer Notice and the terms of any applicable legal agreement between you and Nintex; and (iii) you have read, understood, and agree to this Disclaimer Notice.

Enable or disable the AI Assistant

The AI Assistant feature is available only when the feature is selected in the AI features for the tenant. For more information, see AI features.

When the AI Assistant feature is turned on, click Assistant at the top of the Page Designer to enable the AI Assistant in the Page Designer. It is enabled when the button is purple and pink, and disabled when the button is white.

Build a page using the AI Assistant

  1. Select an existing page or create a new one to open the Page Designer.

  2. Enable the AI Assistant. For more information, see Enable or disable the AI Assistant

  3. If the AI Assistant is not docked in the Properties panel, click in the floating AI Assistant at the bottom of the Page Designer to expand it.

  4. Describe what you want to create or customize in the AI Assistant text box. To use the voice assistant, first click the microphone. For better results, provide as much information as possible about the page you want to create.

    • Center the Create New button.

    • Give this page a two-column layout.

    • Change the tab order for the form so that it moves from left to right.

    • Make this page mobile responsive.

    • Create a filter on this table with date options.

    • Build a list with a detail view.

    • Build a dashboard that summarizes my content.

    • Add a task module that shows any Nintex tasks assigned to the logged-in user.

    • Create a Nintex Apps form with the same fields that are on the HR Nintex Workflow start form. When someone submits the form, run that same workflow.

    • Create a page with links to run my published workflows.

    • Build an opportunity detail page that includes accounts and cases.

    • Build a workflow iteration page with tasks.

    • Create a deck of my hot Salesforce leads with the lead name, rating, and last contact date.

    • Create a copy of the opportunity table, but adjust it and its actions and render conditions to use the Opportunity_Wins model

  5. Press Enter.

    The page is built and customized in the Page Designer.

  6. Continue to use the AI Assistant to refine the page. You can follow the AI Assistant suggestions to refine the page or write your own prompts.

Tip: To clear the AI Assistant chat window, click Refresh in the expanded floating AI Assistant or click the more options ellipse in the docked AI Assistant and select Clear Chat.

Edit or refine a page using the AI Assistant

  1. Select an existing page to open the Page Designer.

  2. Enable the AI Assistant. For more information, see Enable or disable the AI Assistant

  3. If the AI Assistant is not docked in the Properties panel, click in the floating AI Assistant at the bottom of the Page Designer to expand it.

  4. Describe how you want to edit or refine the page in the AI Assistant text box. To use the voice assistant, first click the microphone. For better results, provide as much information as possible about the changes you want to make to the page.

    The page is updated in the Page Designer.

  6. Continue to use the AI Assistant to edit or refine the page. You can follow the AI Assistant suggestions to refine the page or write your own prompts.

Tip: To clear the AI Assistant chat window, click Refresh in the expanded floating AI Assistant or click the more options ellipsis in the docked AI Assistant and select Clear Chat.

Dock or float the AI Assistant

You can choose to display the AI Assistant floating at the bottom of the Page Designer, or you can dock it on the right side of the Page Designer in the Properties panel.

Click the Dock icon in the expanded floating AI Assistant.

  1. Click the more options ellipse in the docked AI Assistant.

  2. Select Float assistant.

Minimize the AI Assistant

Click the X in the expanded floating AI Assistant or the docked AI Assistant to minimize it. To disable it, see Enable or disable the AI Assistant.

Provide feedback on the AI Assistant

  1. Click the more options ellipse in the docked AI Assistant.

  2. Select Feedback.

Click the Feedback icon.
