Install the app

Use these instructions to install or upgrade Nintex Drawloop DocGen® for Salesforce. Government Cloud organizations require a special version of the app that matches the environment in which they intend to install the app. All other customers can use the AppExchange to obtain the app, and can install the app in any environment.

Government Cloud requirements and limitations

Use the one of the special links in the instructions below to obtain the version of the app that matches the environment in which you intend to install the app. After you install the app, you must enable the Salesforce Connected Apps feature from within Nintex Drawloop DocGen® for Salesforce.

Limitations for Government Cloud organizations

Install or upgrade the app

Use this procedure to install or upgrade the app and confirm the installation.

After you complete these procedures, see recommendations below for getting users in your organization provisioned to use the app.

To install or upgrade the app

Note: To install an app from the AppExchange, you must have the Download AppExchange packages user permissions. For more information, see Installing Packages in Salesforce Application Installation Guide.

  1. Take one of the following actions, depending on whether your organization is a Government Cloud organization or not:

    • Government Cloud organizations installing the app into a production environment, use this link:

    • Government Cloud organizations installing the app into a sandbox environment, use this link:

    • Not a Government Cloud organizations, installing into production or sandbox, use these steps:

      1. Follow this link and select Get It Now.

        Tip: Salesforce may prompt you to log into your account. Use the credentials for the Salesforce Organization where you intend to install the package.

      2. Choose whether to install the app into a production or sandbox organization.

      3. Agree to the terms and conditions and choose Confirm and Install!

        Note: You may be prompted to login to Salesforce again.

  2. Choose an access level and click Install.

    • Install for All Users

      • Select Install for all Users and click Install.

      This is the recommended option for new install and upgrade. On upgrade, this option enables read/edit permissions to any new objects and fields included in the upgrade.

    • Install for Specific Profiles

      1. In Set access level for all profiles to, select Full Access and click Set.

      2. In Access Level, select DocGen User to profiles that only need to generate documents.

      3. In Access Level, select No Access to profiles that do not need access.

      4. Click Install.

      If you need to restrict DocGen Package access by profile, chose this option for new installs or upgrade. If you want to provide access to additional profiles later, you will have to edit field-level security and assign permissions. For more information, see Assign app permissions by profile.

    • Install for Admins Only

      • Select Install for Admins Only and click Install.

      For install, this option is recommended only if you cannot use either of the other two options. To enable access for non-administrative users in your organization, you will have to deploy custom objects for the app. For more information, see Deploy custom objects for the app.

      For upgrade, this option is not recommended. Existing users may experience errors until their profiles have been updated to include read permissions to any new objects or fields.

    Tip: You can also modify access security settings once the app is installed.

  3. In Approve Third-Party Access, select Yes, grant access to these third-party web sites and click Continue.

    Note: You may get a message saying the app is taking a long time to install. This is common. You will get an email notification after the app installs.
