Encryption Standards
Nintex Bot protects several pieces of information by encrypting it using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256.
Nintex Bot Encrypted Information
The following information is encrypted in Nintex Bot:
- Nintex Bot Credentials: If your Nintex Bot administrator has enabled logins, you will be required to enter a username and password to use Nintex Bot. These credentials give you access to user settings.
- Send Data Action: The Send Data action An instruction within a botflow. allows users to send data to targets. That data is stored in botflows Automated steps that you can design for each bot that will run.. If users do not want others to see the information, then they have the option of encrypting the data. The information is encrypted using AES 256.
- Open Workbook Action: The Open Workbook action allows users to specify a Microsoft Excel workbook password, which is stored in botflows. The password is encrypted using AES 256.
- Protect Sheet and Unprotect Sheet Excel Actions: The Protect Sheet and Unprotect Sheet actions allow users to protect and unprotect sheets in Microsoft Excel workbooks. The Microsoft Excel workbook passwords are encrypted using AES 256.
- FTP Connections: If you add an FTP connection that is configured with a password, the password is encrypted using AES 256.
- Email SMTP Password: If you configure Nintex Bot with SMTP account information, the password that you provide is encrypted using AES 256.
