Merge PDFs
The Merge PDF action is used to merge two PDF documents together. To reduce the likelihood of encountering an error while using this action, Nintex recommends limiting the size of the merged PDF document.
Note: The Actions Quick Reference provides a complete list of actions that you can print for easy reference.
Important: Nintex Bot cannot target Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2022.003.20263 and higher because the setting required to target these applications is no longer being saved. Therefore, the Merge PDFs action does not work in PDF file versions 2.0 or higher.
Create a Merge PDF action
-
On the Actions list, click PDF and select Merge PDFs.
-
In the File 1 field, click the folder and navigate to and select the location of the first PDF document. Optionally, click the Magic Wand to use the Expression Builder.
-
In the File 2 field, click the folder and navigate to and select the location of the second PDF document. Optionally, click the Magic Wand to use the Expression Builder.
-
In the Save to field, click the folder and navigate to and select the location where you want to save the merged PDF document. Optionally, click the Magic Wand to use the Expression Builder.
-
Select if you want to Overwrite the destination file.
-
If needed, adjust the Run error task settings to fine tune how the action runs.
- Run error task: A botflow containing an error task automatically runs the error task in the event of an error. If the botflow does not contain an error task, the botflow stops in the event of an error.
- Stop on error: The botflow stops in the event of an error.
- Ignore errors: The action is skipped in the event of an error and the botflow attempts to execute the next action.
-
(Optional) Add a Note to document special instructions or functionality.
-
Toggle the run switch to Run and click OK to execute and save the action.
Note: The run switch is set to Run by default. To create or modify this action without executing it, click the slider to change the option to Don't Run. For more information, go to Action Builder.
