UserVoice

The UserVoice connector Service used to define a connection required for associated actions and start events. Examples include Salesforce and Box. The following actions are available:

Use the actions to create and update features, and to retrieve lists of features and their statuses. Use actions to retrieve lists of product areas, and users. You can use the Create a feature action to create a feature in the system that allows you to aggregate feedback around planned product features.

Create a UserVoice connection

You can create connections from the Automate or Designer page.

Note: Your browser-stored credentials are accessed to create connections. Either clear credentials from browser memory or make sure the stored credentials are for the intended environment.

Assign permissions

Permissions enable you to manage access for other users to use, edit, and delete connections.

Note: By default, users with administrator role will have the same rights as a Connection owner.

Follow these steps to assign permissions from the Connections page:

  1. On the Connections page, click for the required connection.
  2. From the menu, select Permissions.
  3. To assign permissions:
    • In the Owners field, type the name of the user, and select from the list.
    • In the Users field, type the name of the user, and select from the list.
  1. Click Save permissions.

Create a UserVoice data source

Use the UserVoice data sources to create a drop-down lists of UserVoice features, feature statues, and product areas.

Example:  To allow users to select a specific feature in a form, add a drop-down list of features to the form using a Data lookup control A form control that allows users to select from a drop-down list of values that have been fetched from a third-party service.. The Data lookup control uses a UserVoice - Get features to list the features available in UserVoice in the drop-down.

You can create a data source to:

  • Get features: list all the features.
  • Get feature statuses: list all the feature statuses available.
  • Get product areas: list all the product areas available.

Each data source is configured for a specific UserVoice connection. You can create as many data sources as you need.

When you create a UserVoice data source, you can configure some additional fields for the operations to retrieve specific date.

  • UserVoice - Get feature statuses:
    • Updated before: Choose a date and time to filter for records before this time.
    • Updated after: Choose a date and time to filter for records after this time.
    • Sort by: Specify the manner in which the retrieved list of items is sorted by.
    • Page: Specify the page to retrieve.
    • Items per page: Specify how many items you want per page.
  • UserVoice - Get features:
    • Updated before: Choose a date and time to filter for records before this time.
    • Updated after: Choose a date and time to filter for records after this time.
    • User filter: Filter the retrieved list by specifying users associated with the features that you want to retrieve a list of.
    • Feature status filter: Filter the retrieved list by specifying statuses of the features that you want to retrieve a list of.
    • Product area filter: Filter the retrieved list by specifying product area of the features that you want to retrieve a list of.
    • Sort by: Specify the manner in which the retrieved list of items is sorted by.
    • Page: Specify the page to retrieve.
    • Items per page: Specify how many items you want per page.
  • UserVoice - Get product areas:
    • Updated before: Choose a date and time to filter for records before this time.
    • Updated after: Choose a date and time to filter for records after this time.
    • Sort by: Specify the manner in which the retrieved list of items is sorted by.
