Mailchimp

Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform and email marketing service. You can create your store website, sync your store data and use pre-built customer segments based on purchase behavior. You can run marketing campaigns and track sales. Mailchimp includes Marketing CRM, sign-up forms, behavioral targeting, predictive demographics, reports, surveys, personalized customer journeys, integrations, and transactional email. The Mailchimp connector Service used to define a connection required for associated actions and start events. Examples include Salesforce and Box. Method of integration to cloud services, business applications and content stores.. The Mailchimp connector is used to create connections for Mailchimp actions. Use Mailchimp actions A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. to add customers, events, automations, and stores, and to retrieve lists of contacts and e-commerce stores.

Create a Mailchimp connection

Note: Your browser-stored credentials are accessed to create connections. Either clear credentials from browser memory or make sure the stored credentials are for the intended environment.

Create a connection from the connections page or from the action configuration panel when configuring the action. For information about creating connections and assigning permissions, see Manage connections.

In the Connection window, complete the fields as follows:

Connection name A name for your new connection
Data center This value can be found by logging into the account. Extract the value from the URL. For example, if the URL is https://us20.admin.mailchimp.com/account/profile/post, then us20 is the data center.

Create a Mailchimp data source

Use the Mailchimp connector to create a data source to retrieve data from Mailchimp. Data sources are useful when you want to use a form in a workflow, and you want to populate a drop-down list in your form with data from Mailchimp. Once you've created the data source, you can use it in a Data lookup form control to populate the drop-down list field on your form. You can create a data source to:

  • Get lists - Retrieve the list of contacts in your Mailchimp account.
  • Get stores - Retrieve a list of the e-commerce stores for your Mailchimp account.
  • Get templates - Retrieve a list of templates in your Mailchimp account.

Mailchimp data source fields

To access the data source fields, in the Add data source section, select the Connector and the Operation.

The following operations are available for the Mailchimp connector:

  • Mailchimp - Get lists

  • Mailchimp - Get stores

  • Mailchimp - Get templates

The configuration fields displayed depend on the operation selected.

Mailchimp - Get lists For subscriber

Restricts the records retrieved to lists that include a specific subscriber's email address.

  Belongs to e-commerce store Restricts the records retrieved to lists that contain an active, connected, undeleted e-commerce store.
  Created after Restricts the records retrieved to lists created after this date. We recommend ISO 8601 time format: 2015-10-21T15:41:36+00:00.
  Sort by Returns the records sorted by the specified field. Possible value: "date_created".
  Sort order Sorts the records in ascending or descending order. Possible values are ASC or DESC for sorting records in ascending or descending order.
  Item limit The number of records to return. The maximum value is 100.
