Calendarific is a comprehensive JSON API for obtaining public and bank holidays programmatically for free. They provide calendars with dates and information on public holidays and bank holidays in over 230 countries around the world. For more information on Calendarific see the company website.

In the context of Nintex Automation Cloud, Calendarific is a connector A software component that allows seamless integration with third-party services, business applications, and content stores. Examples include Salesforce, Box, and Microsoft SharePoint. Connectors are used to create connections required for workflow actions and start events. and is used to create connections for Calendarific actions A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows.. Calendarific actions are used to retrieve holidays by countries.

Create a Calendarific connection

Note: Your browser-stored credentials are accessed to create connections. Either clear credentials from browser memory or make sure the stored credentials are for the intended environment.

Create a connection from the connections page or from the action configuration panel when configuring the action. For information about creating connections and assigning permissions, see Manage connections.

Complete the following fields when creating the connection:

Connection name A name for your new connection
API Key Your Calendarific API key. Access your Calendarific API key in your account page.

Calendarific account requirements

  • You must use a Calendarific API key to create a connection. Access your Calendarific API key in your account page.

  • The free Calendarific account only supports a maximum of 1000 requests. You must subscribe to a Calendarific plan to use this connector.

Create an Calendarific data lookup

Use the Calendarific data lookup to retrieve the available countries from a Calendarific connection and create a drop-down list in a form.

You can create a Calendarific data lookup to:

  • Get countries: retrieve a list of countries from Calendarific.

Each data lookup is configured for a specific Calendarific connection. You can create as many data lookups as you need.

To add an Calendarific drop-down list to your form:

  1. Create your Calendarific data lookup.

    2. See Data lookups.

  2. Add a data lookup form control to your form and configure it to use your new data lookup.
