Azure App Service
Important: This connector and its actions have been removed from Nintex Automation Cloud and can now be found in Nintex Gallery.
Azure App Service is a fully managed web hosting service for building web applications, services, and RESTful APIs. You can quickly build, deploy, and scale web apps and APIs on your terms. Work with .NET, .NET Core, Node.js, Java, Python, or PHP in containers or running on Windows or Linux. For more information on Azure App Service see the company website.
In the context of Nintex Automation Cloud, Azure App Service is a connector A software component that allows seamless integration with third-party services, business applications, and content stores. Examples include Salesforce, Box, and Microsoft SharePoint. Connectors are used to create connections required for workflow actions and start events.. The Azure App Service connector is used to create connections for Azure App Service actions A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. Actions are the steps the workflow performs to complete a process.. Use Azure App Service actions to manage starting and stopping Azure web apps, and to retrieve lists of resource groups, subscriptions, and available web apps.
Create an Azure App Service connection
Note: Your browser-stored credentials are accessed to create connections. Either clear credentials from browser memory or make sure the stored credentials are for the intended environment.
Create a connection from the connections page or from the action configuration panel when configuring the action. For information about creating connections and assigning permissions, see Manage connections.
In the Add a new connection section, complete the fields as follows:

-
You need the app's client ID, client secret, and the tenant ID. You can find them on your Azure portal tenant settings page.
Create an Azure App Service data lookup
Use the Azure App Service data lookup to create a drop-down list of Azure App Service subscriptions, resource groups, or web apps in a form. Each data lookup is configured for a specific user. You can create as many data lookups as you need. For more information on creating a data lookup and assigning permissions to it, see Data lookups.
For example, to allow users to select a specific web app in a form, add a drop-down list of web apps to the form using a Data lookup control A form control that allow users to select from a drop-down list that has values sourced from a third-party service.. The Data lookup form control uses a Azure App Service - Get web apps data lookup to list the blog posts available from the Azure App Service connection in the drop-down.
You can create a Azure App Service data lookup to:
- Get resource groups: List all the resource groups available from your Azure App Service account.
- Get subscriptions: List all the Azure subscriptions available from your Azure App Service account.
- Get web apps: List all the web apps available from your Azure App Service account.
