Solution assistant uses AI to create a solution from a prompt. It analyzes your requirements, recommends a solution structure, identifies related assets, and creates supported assets within the solution. Use Solution assistant to generate a starting point for a solution. Before creating assets, you can review the generated requirements, solution architecture, personas, assumptions, integrations, and asset specifications.

Create a solution with Solution assistant

  1. Go to Home > Build a solution or Solutions > Create solution.

  2. In the How would you like to start dialog, under Generate with AI, click Start planning.

Note:  Solution assistant creates the solution and assigns it a name. You can change the name later. If you leave the prompt screen, the solution remains available on the Solutions page.

  3. In the prompt field, you can select an example prompt if one is similar to the solution you want to build or describe the solution you want to create. Include the business process, the data you want to track, the users involved, and any tasks or workflows the solution must support.

For example, Create an expense approval system that allows employees to submit expenses with receipts, routes approvals based on amount thresholds, integrates with an accounting system, provides real-time status tracking, and generates monthly expense reports.

  4. Click Generate solution

Solution assistant uses the initial prompt to generate a name for the solution. You can change the solution name later.

Solution assistant analyzes the prompt and identifies the key components required for the solution. Depending on the size and complexity of the request, this process can take several minutes.

Review and update the solution design

After you submit the prompt, Solution assistant guides you through the following review stages:

  • Requirements review: Review the solution goals, personas, and external systems.

  • Architecture review: Review the proposed assets and how they work together to meet the solution requirements.

  • Specification review: Review the assets Solution assistant plans to create, including their settings and configuration details.

Review the proposed design before creating the solution assets.

  1. Use the Requirements and Outlines tabs to review the proposed solution.

  2. If the design does not meet your requirements, select Make changes in the AI Assistant (beta) panel.

  3. Describe the changes you want to make. For example, remove an unnecessary table, simplify the app structure, add a persona, or change an integration.

  4. Review the updated design.

  5. Repeat as needed until the design meets your requirements.

  6. When you are satisfied with the design, click Approve in the AI Assistant (beta) panel to continue to the next phase.

Requirements review

The Requirements review stage generates detailed specifications for the proposed solution.

  • The Progress panel on the left shows each stage of the design process and indicates the current stage:

    • Requirements Review

    • Generating Requirements

    • Generating outlines

    • Building Assets

  • On the Requirements tab, Solution assistant displays requirement cards for the proposed solution. These cards can include:

    • Solution Architecture: The solution architecture outlines the design, components, data flow, and integration points required to support the end-to-end solution.

    • User Personas: Defines the primary roles that interact with the solution. They describe each role’s goals, responsibilities, access needs, and key workflows so the solution supports the right users and tasks.

    • External System: Identifies the third-party services that the solution connects to. They describe the systems, connectors, data exchanged, authentication, and error handling required to support communication, e-signature routing, and document tracking.

  • The AI Assistant (beta) panel provides a summary of the generated requirements and asks you to approve the next phase.

    • To update the requirements, select Make Changes and describe the changes you want to make in the AI Assistant (beta) panel.

    • To continue to the next phase, click Approve.

Review outlines

After you confirm the requirements, Solution assistant generates outlines for the assets it plans to create.

Select the Outlines tab to review the generated asset outlines. Outlines are grouped by asset type and can include:

  • Tables: Fields, relationships, schema details, and business rules.

  • Workflows: Start events, workflow steps, conditions, decision logic, and dependencies.

  • Forms: The purpose of the form and the data it is expected to capture or display.

  • Apps: The proposed app structure and pages.

Each asset card shows the asset name, a short description, and a status, such as Not started. The counter next to each asset type shows the number of completed outlines compared to the total number of outlines in that group. Review the outlines before Solution assistant creates the assets. If an outline does not meet your requirements, use the AI Assistant (beta) panel to request a change. Make all required changes before confirming the outlines. After Solution assistant generates the assets, the requirements, specifications, solution architecture, personas, and asset outlines are locked and can no longer be updated using the AI Assistant.

Build assets

After you confirm the generated requirements and outlines, Solution assistant creates the supported assets in the solution.

Generated assets can include: Apps, Tables, Workflows

When the build process is complete, the solution navigation panel is displayed. Use the panel to open the solution dashboard and view the assets generated by Solution assistant. Review each asset and make any required configuration changes before publishing the asset or making it available to end users.

View AI-generated solutions

AI-generated solutions are identified by an AI indicator icon () on the Solutions page.

To view an AI-generated solution:

  1. Go to Solutions > All solutions.
  2. Select the solution you created. Solutions created with Solution assistant are identified by .

Use the solution navigation panel to open the solution dashboard or view the generated assets.

Current limitations

Solution assistant has the following limitations:

  • Supports only simple text files as input.

  • Complex files and multiple file uploads are not supported.

  • Visual editing of the generated design is not available. Use the AI Assistant (beta) panel to request changes.

  • After assets are generated, the requirements, specifications, solution architecture, personas, and asset outlines cannot be updated.

  • Form outlines can be generated, but form assets are not currently created.

  • Generated assets must be reviewed and configured before use.

Troubleshooting

  • Solution assistant appears stuck: If the design process appears stuck or the page displays an unexpected state, refresh the browser.
After the page refreshes, Solution assistant returns to the solution. If asset generation is complete, the solution navigation panel is displayed and the generated assets are available for review.
