Save an agentflow

Important: Agents is currently in private beta and is not yet available to all customers.

Saving a agentflow allows you to keep the design for later. You can make changes and save the agentflow till it's ready to be published. Saving a agentflow, whether new or existing, does not publish the agentflow. A draft agentflow is a saved agentflow that's not published. The status of saved agentflows is shown as Draft in the agentflows page.

Caution: If you edit a published agentflow and save the changes, it becomes a draft version of that agentflow and is given the status Draft in the Agentflows list page.

Save your agentflow (overwrite an existing draft)

  1. Go to Agents > All agents.

  2. Open the agent designer:

    1. New agentflow: Click Create agentflow.

    2. Existing agentflow: Select the agentflow you want from the agentflows page.

  3. On the toolbar at the top of the agent designer, click Save.
  4. In the Save dialog box, complete the fields and click Save. For more information, see Save an agentflow.

The agentflow is saved as a Draft agentflow.

Save your agentflow with a new name

  1. On the toolbar at the top of the Agent Designer, click the down-arrow to the right of Save and then select Save as.
  2. In the Save as dialog box, complete the fields and click Save. For more information, see Save an agentflow.
    Note:

Special characters, like the ones listed here, are not allowed in agentflow names:

    / ^ $ . | ? * + ( ) < > ! \ @ # % & , [ ] : ; =

Session expiry and auto save agentflows

If your session expires while working on a agentflow:

  • Existing agents: Unsaved changes are automatically saved as a new version. If applicable, the draft version number is incremented.

  • New agents: If you are creating a new agentflow that has never been saved before, then it will be automatically saved as Unnamed agentflow - [current date/time]. All auto-saved agentflows include "Auto-saved by Nintex" version comments.

When you authenticate and sign in, a session is created. You won’t need to sign in again until the session ends. A session expires if:

  • You are inactive for two hours, or

  • You close your browser or tab.

A message is displayed 15 minutes before the session expires and you can choose to continue or sign out and end the session. This message includes a countdown timer to show how much time is left before the session ends.

Note: If the form designer is open when the session expires, any unsaved changes in the form are not automatically saved.
