A template is a form export file (.xml) that is used to apply default settings for newly created forms. You can import templates for both the Classic and Responsive Forms designer.
A template is applied to all forms created in the Responsive Forms designer.
Note: You can only import a Responsive form definition as a Responsive forms template.
To upload a template
Once a template has been uploaded, the template that was found within the form export file is listed below the Browse button.
To deactivate a template, press the Remove button.
Note: Only one template may be applied for the farm. Uploading a template file will clear all existing templates and apply only the layouts found in the most recent file uploaded.
The following items are all included as part of the template:
A template will be added for each layout in the exported form definition. For example: A form is exported with a Default layout, iPad layout and a Smart Phone layout. Whenever one of these three layouts are created, the template settings will be applied.
Note: You can only import a Classic forms definition into the Classic Forms Layouts.
To upload a template
Once a template has been uploaded, the device templates that were found within the form export file is listed below the Browse button.
To deactivate a template for one or more specific device layout(s), deselect the Use Template. For more information, see Manage device layouts for forms.
