Configure external connection settings
As an administrator, you can view the external connection settings in use, update the external connection end point ID value, specify a proxy server, and verify that the ID can connect to the farm and the Nintex external platform.
To configure external connection settings
- On the SharePoint Central Administration Home page, click Nintex Administration.
- On the Nintex Administration page, click External connection settings.

In the Endpoint settings section, configure the following settings as required:
- Endpoint URL: Specifies the URL that is used to connect to the Nintex external platform. This field is not editable.

External connection end point ID: Specifies the unique identifier of the SharePoint farm. The ID connects the farm to the Nintex external platform. In the event of a disaster recovery or migration, the external connection endpoint ID is required. Consider adding it to your SharePoint disaster recovery plan.
- Override ID: When selected, the External connection end point ID text box becomes editable. You can replace the ID value as required.

In the Proxy Server section, specify a proxy server as follows:
- Select the Connect by using a proxy server option.
- Specify the proxy server and the proxy port.

Click OK.
The configuration is set.
