Configure external connection settings

As an administrator, you can view the external connection settings in use, update the external connection end point ID value, specify a proxy server, and verify that the ID can connect to the farm and the Nintex external platform.

To configure external connection settings

  1. On the SharePoint Central Administration Home page, click Nintex Administration.
  2. On the Nintex Administration page, click External connection settings.
  3. In the Endpoint settings section, configure the following settings as required:

    • Endpoint URL: Specifies the URL that is used to connect to the Nintex external platform. This field is not editable.
    • External connection end point ID: Specifies the unique identifier of the SharePoint farm. The ID connects the farm to the Nintex external platform. In the event of a disaster recovery or migration, the external connection endpoint ID is required. Consider adding it to your SharePoint disaster recovery plan.

    • Override ID: When selected, the External connection end point ID text box becomes editable. You can replace the ID value as required.
  4. In the Proxy Server section, specify a proxy server as follows:

    • Select the Connect by using a proxy server option.
    • Specify the proxy server and the proxy port.
  5. Click OK.

    The configuration is set.
