This topic describes the selections available in the Settings - External Forms dialog box.

Note: This feature is available in the Classic Forms Designer only.

General tab

  • Publish to Nintex external platform: When this setting is checked, the form is published to the Nintex external platform.
  • URL: This is the URL to access the form and it is only appears after the initial publish. The form URL is unique and remains the same even if the form is unpublished and republished to the Nintex external platform.
  • Shorten URL: When this setting is checked, the URL to the published form is shortened using the Nintex URL shortening service (http://ntx.lv). The shortened URL provided is case-sensitive.
  • Allow anonymous access: When this setting is checked, anonymous users are allowed to view and submit the form. This setting is disabled by default. For more information, see Enable external forms.
  • Users: Provide the email address of user(s) that are allowed to view and submit the form. The email address needs to be registered to a service provider in order for the specified user(s) to authenticate themselves. Nintex external platform can then determine if the user viewing and submitting the form is the correct user.

This setting is only available when Allow anonymous access is not checked. If specifying a group (SharePoint / Active Directory), the first 50 users resolved from the group is used. After the form is published, if a new user is added to the group, the form must be published again for the new user to have access to the form.

  • Submissions per user: The number of times a single user can submit the form. Note: This setting is only available when Allow anonymous access is not checked.
  • Maximum submissions: The total number of times the form can be submitted. Note: This setting is only available when Allow anonymous access is checked.
  • Form Expiry Date: The date when the form can no longer be viewed or submitted.
  • Default time zone: The time zone the form defaults to when accessed through the Nintex external platform. Any date/time entered using the external form will be stored according to this time zone unless overridden by the user filling out the form.
