Rename a File

1. Select Local File System as your file storage location.

2. Enter the full file path and file name of the file you wish to rename.

3. Enter the new name for the file, including the file extension.

   • If you enter only the file name (with no path), the file will be renamed and remain in its current location.

   • If you enter a new file path along with the file name, the file will be renamed AND moved to the new location you entered.

     • If a file of the same name already exists in the new location, the file will NOT be renamed or moved.

4. Expand the Error handling option to provide instructions to the wizard on how to manage encountered errors. For more information on error handling, see error handling.

You can rename a file stored in your SharePoint Online.
