Removing artifacts and integration from SharePoint

Deleting artifacts and uninstalling K2 for SharePoint from your environment removes them from SharePoint. You want to be sure that all SmartObjects, views, forms, and service instances are completely removed from the environment, and that there are no orphaned artifacts.

This topic explains the best practice when removing artifacts to ensure that all elements are removed and are no longer visible in the database, Workspace (Desktop), Management, and in the category tree. Follow these steps to remove artifacts and the K2 for SharePoint app.

  1. On every list and library that contains artifacts, perform the following three steps:
    1. Open the application and click Delete All.
    2. Select the Historical log data check box and click OK.

      If you don't have a workflow in your application, the following page is displayed when you click Delete All.

    3. The artifacts are deleted.
  2. Go to the SharePoint admin center and click apps.
  3. .On the Apps page, click App Catalog.
  4. On the Apps page, click Site Contents
  5. On the Apps page, select the K2 Cloud for SharePoint app.
  6. On the Apps > K2 for SharePoint page click Manage App Activations.
  7. On the Apps > K2 for SharePoint . Settings > Manage App Activations page, select the required site collection and click Uninstall.
  8. On the Confirmation page, click OK.
  9. Once the uninstall is complete, click Close and then Close again.
  10. On the Apps > K2 for SharePoint page, click Manage App Deployments (SharePoint).
  11. On the Managed Paths section, select the (All Paths) option and click Remove. Click OK.
  12. Click Trust It on the Do you trust [domain.com]? page.
  13. Open the Site Contents page, select the K2 Cloud for SharePoint app. Click the ellipsis and click Remove.
  14. Click OK.
  15. On the Site Contents page, click Recycle Bin.
  16. On the Apps > Recycle bin page, select the K2 Cloud for SharePoint app and click Delete Selection.
  17. Click OK.
  18. On the Apps page, click Site Settings.
  19. On the Site Settings page, click Recycle Bin in the Site Collection Administration section.
  20. On the Site Settings > Recycle Bin page, click second - stage recycle bin.
  21. On the Recycle Bin > Second - Stage Recycle Bin page, select the K2 Cloud for SharePoint app and click Delete Selection.
  22. Click OK.
  23. K2 Cloud for SharePoint and artifacts are removed from your environment.

Leftover Artifacts

Once you have removed K2 for SharePoint as per the steps above, the following leftover artifacts remain:

  • Management and System SmartObjects are visible in the Designer
  • Management and System category folders are visible in the Designer
  • The K2 for SharePoint Service Instance is visible in Management
These artifacts are leftover by design and are not removed when following the steps above. To remove these artifacts contact Nintex Customer Central for assistance.
