K2 Designer for SharePoint - Placeholder
The Placeholder Event is an event that can be used as a placeholder and can be replaced by another event in future. It does not require human interaction and no action will be performed by this event.

In K2 Designer for SharePoint the Placeholder can be modified to contain notes to the Workflow developer to configure the step that the workflow designer would like to add to the Workflow. In this way the workflow designer can design a Workflow without having to configure any steps, and the Workflow developer can configure the workflow steps as instructed by the workflow designer.
To modify the Placeholder event, double click on the step and modify the name and description fields in the Server Task. Alternatively, additional information can also be supplied using the Notes functionality.
