Enable the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer

Enable the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer (LEDD) for end-users by installing Nintex Drawloop DocGen through the Salesforce AppExchange. You must have the latest version of Nintex Drawloop DocGen to access the Lightning experience. You'll want to enable LEDD because it is the only way to access some features such as editing templates A document/file that can be added to a DocGen Package. Data can be filled into the document/file.. The LEDD experience is faster, easier to use, and has a better user interface than the Classic experience.

  1. Download or upgrade the latest version of Nintex Drawloop DocGen from the Salesforce AppExchange here.
  2. Once you have installed or upgraded, navigate to the App Launcher by selecting the in the upper left corner and select Nintex DocGen.
  3. Select the DocGen Admin tab.
  4. At the top of the DocGen Admin page, switch the Enable Lightning Designer toggle to Active.

    You can now access the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer.

Intro to the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer

This section covers the main changes you'll need to know about making the switch from using Nintex Drawloop DocGen in Salesforce Classic to the Lightning Experience DocGen Designer (LEDD) in Salesforce Lightning. The following table lists the key feature locations and key differences between Salesforce Classic and Salesforce Lightning.

Set Security drop-down Availability pane

Security was renamed to Availability. The Security Type from Salesforce Classic is not available in LEDD; However, the settings configured for DocGen Packages created in Salesforce Classic, will be preserved.
We recommend that you change the Security Type to Match Profile OR Role in Salesforce Classic. See Availability.

Templates management (via Select Files drop-down (in Adobe Flash Player)) Documents tab In LEDD, you can manage your templates from the Documents tab.
Related by list (via Relationships) Relationships pane via Data tab

In LEDD, Relationships display in a tree. We recommend that you check for broken relationships.

Note:  Relationships that are linked from a Lookup field to another relationship that is also linked from a Lookup field are not supported. See Relationships
Delivery options were visible on the page in a related list Delivery tab Configure a delivery option from the Delivery tab under Delivery Options. See Delivery Options
Test DocGen Package button Authorize & Test button (see notes about LEDD)

When testing a DocGen Package in LEDD, the Authorize & Test button only displays as a selectable option when the DocGen Package is completed with the required items such as Data, Documents, and Delivery.

The DocGen Package Steps pane lists the above items to be completed before a DocGen Package is ready to be tested or run. Once all items are completed, the DocGen Package Steps pane flips to show the Test DocGen Package pane, and the Authorize & Test button displays. See Test DocGen Packages

New Document button Upload feature in LEDD Previously in Salesforce Classic, the New Document button opened new screen where a user could upload a document. Now, the LEDD upload feature is in the same screen as your DocGen Package. See Manage templates in DocGen Packages
