Start workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud

Use the Start workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. to start a Nintex Automation Cloud workflow that has been configured with a Nintex Component workflow start event.

The Nintex Automation Cloud workflow is triggered by the Start workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud action using the External start URL. This URL is triggered for component workflows in Nintex Automation Cloud.

Add and configure the Start workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud action

Note: Make sure that the workflow with the Nintex Component workflow start event is created in Nintex Automation Cloud before you proceed.

In the Nintex for Office 365 designer page:

  1. Click the Integration action group in the action toolbox.
  2. or

    Type the action name or function in the Search field at the top of the action toolbox.

  3. Drag the Start workflow in Nintex Automation Cloud action to the Designer canvas.

  4. Open the Action configuration window. For steps on how to open the Action configuration window, see Action configuration window.

  5. Copy the Component workflow URL from Nintex Automation Cloud and enter it in the External start URL field.

  1. Click Connect.
  2. When the workflow is successfully connected, the text [Connected] appears below the URL and the start event variables of the Component workflow is shown.

  1. Configure the start event variables. For instructions, see the table with field description given below.
  1. Click Save.
