Standalone Installation
A standalone installation describes an environment where all the K2 connect components are installed on one machine but still connecting to a separate SAP Server. Before installing K2 connect ensure the Installation Prerequisites have been met and the manual configurations are done. Follow these step by step instructions for your standalone installation:
Double click the installation file that was downloaded. From the splash screen, click the Install button, or navigate to the installation folder and double click Setup.exe.
The Welcome page of the installation manager will load.

The EULA defines the terms and conditions of use and installation. The EULA must be agreed to before the installation can proceed.

Select the components to be installed. The standalone installation requires that all components are installed on the local machine.
You can install the K2 Service Object Designer as a stand-alone component, without having the K2 server components installed.

The additional input required screen sets up the installation directory, the database connection, the license, and the service account. The database connection requires the SQL Server and K2 connect database names, including the accounts that will be used to access the SQL Server and create the required database. The account used at this point is the logged on user. If the user does not have the required permissions, this portion of the installation will fail. Click the Test button to validate the values for each seciton.

Click Next to start the installation.

Once the installation is complete, click Finish. The post installation launch check boxes are checked by default. These run after the K2 Setup Manager completes.

The K2 connect Database Update will run. Enter the following details:
- The name of the SQL Server.
- If SQL Authentication was used during installation select SQL Authentication and enter the same credentials.
- Click OK.
The Visual Studio extension installer (VSIX ) will run. Click Install to continue the K2 connect extension installation.
Click Close once the VSIX installer is finished.
