Document types

Nintex Process Manager has a pre-defined list of common document types that you can select from when adding documents to a process. Each has a specific purpose in your processes.

Document Type Description Customize Label
Form Forms are documents to be filled in as part of the process they’re attached to. yes
Guide Guide documents provide detailed step-by-step instructions, often with screenshots or graphics providing tips on using a tool, application or platform. yes
Information Information documents are a general category for anything that doesn’t fit one of the other types. They are also used to provide examples in a process. yes
Policy Policy documents contain the approved business rules that pertain to the process. yes
Training Training documents are materials used for training or educating staff about an aspect of the process. yes
Image

Images display as thumbnails and expand to provide visual guides for an activity.

Video

Video clips that demonstrate activity steps or add useful information like tutorials or explanations. The following video file types are supported:

  • .flv
  • .avi
  • .mts
  • .mov
  • .wmv
  • .asx
  • .mp4

The default maximum video file size is 25 MB.

Web link

Web links to external websites that may be required for the activity or provide additional information. You must enter the full URL, including http:// or https:// at the start.

Web links can be added only from the process editor and not selected from the document library.
